The woman froze, glancing at the money, then at Mo Fan. For a moment, the weight of her decision hung in the air. Finally, she sighed. "Follow me."

She handed him a portable oxygen cylinder, her voice trembling. "You didn't get this from me. And don't come back asking for more."
