After dropping Ayan at the Siddiqui house, Ibrahim drove back in silence, his mind still processing the insistence of his younger half-brother. Ayan had begged him to take him to the Siddiqui residence, and despite his reservations, Ibrahim had relented. He couldn't say no to Ayan—after all, the boy was persistent, and Ibrahim knew he meant no harm. But the situation still gnawed at him
Why would Zara allow Ayan to work at NeuraTech? Ibrahim wasn't a fool. He had spent too many years in the business world not to understand people's behavior, especially when it came to his stepmother. Zara was always scheming, always plotting. He could see right through her moves. But letting Ayan into the company? That didn't sit right.
It was too convenient, too deliberate. Zara had always underestimated him, but this time, she was playing a dangerous game. Ibrahim clenched his jaw, the tension in his muscles palpable. There had to be more to it.
------
As Ibrahim entered his penthouse, he dropped his keys on the table by the door and walked straight to the large window, looking out over the city. The skyline seemed like a cold reflection of his own thoughts—sharp, calculated, and a little too distant.
He reached for his phone and dialed the number of his most trusted man, Rafiq. Rafiq had been with him for years, and there was no one Ibrahim trusted more in his inner circle.
The phone rang twice before Rafiq answered. "Yes, sir?"
"I need a report on Zara," Ibrahim said, his voice low but urgent. "What's she up to?"
There was a pause on the other end, followed by Rafiq's response. "She met someone today at a café, sir. A man. They spoke for nearly an hour. We don't know who he was, but it seemed important."
Ibrahim smirked, his mind racing through possibilities. Zara was always playing both sides—this couldn't be just a casual meeting.
"Details, Rafiq," Ibrahim pressed.
"The conversation was mostly private, sir. But from what we gathered, it was about you," Rafiq continued. "She mentioned how she'd successfully taken everything from you, and now NeuraTech would be next."
Ibrahim's lips curled into a mocking grin. He leaned back against the window, watching the night unfold outside.
"So, Zara's trust in her men has made her sloppy," Ibrahim mused aloud, the sarcasm thick in his voice. "She left behind a team to keep an eye on me, but does she know that I know? And does she think her men can really stop me?"
There was a pause from Rafiq, as if he were waiting for further instructions. Ibrahim exhaled slowly, letting the weight of the situation settle over him.
"Make sure our eyes stay on her," Ibrahim said, his voice now hard with intent. "We'll let her think she's winning, but in the end, it'll be her mistake. Zara doesn't realize she's walking into her own trap."
"Understood, sir. We'll keep close watch."
"Good. And one more thing," Ibrahim added, turning toward the desk where his laptop sat. "Make sure the men who are watching me report directly to me from now on. I want no mistakes."
"Of course, sir."
Ibrahim hung up the phone, a plan already starting to form in his mind. Zara thought she could control everything. But she had forgotten one crucial thing: Ibrahim had never lost control.
He was always ten steps ahead.
------
Ibrahim leaned back in his chair, a wry smile tugging at his lips. Zara's plan was unfolding exactly as he expected. She was walking right into the game he had set up, and soon, her own conspiracy would become her undoing.
He let out a quiet laugh, almost amused by her misplaced confidence. "She thinks she can outsmart me… This will be interesting."
