"No, stop," Allan stopped Emma from leaving. "Explain, what is that? Why did you say Cole used money to stop you from getting the wealth?" His eyes darted around before fixing on Emma, trying to find the answer in her eyes.

"I said I blurted out nonsense out of anger. So, I'm sorry." Emma's heartbeat quickened as she tried to hide the reason.

"No, no…" Shaking his head, Allan was sure there was something else she was hiding. "Eleanor said something about me being cold and distant and... and…" He started shaking, his voice trembling as memories began to flash inside his head.

Leon gently reached for Emma's hand, his eyes meeting hers with a silent plea. The signal was clear—they needed to leave immediately.

Emma nodded subtly, and together they turned toward the door, trying to make their exit.

But Allan's voice rang out, stopping them in their tracks. "Don't leave. We need to talk. Seriously." His tone was firm, leaving no room for argument.
