But she could not. Not after what had just happened, and not with her instincts shouting danger to her.
She clenched her fists, really forcing herself to take a steadying breath.
"Damn it, Asher," she muttered before moving in the direction he had gone.
As Ava went closer to the clearing, the pack's voices grew louder.
She slowed down, following the shadows, her sharp ears were hearing the pieces of their fast conversation.
"It is not rogues," someone was saying, their voice was filled with much tension.
"Then what is it?" another asked.
"We don't know yet," Micah replied, his tone was deep.
Ava's heart raced as she stayed closer. The pack had gathered in a semi circle, their attention was now focused on Lily, who stood near the tree line crossing her arm, her expression was very strong.
