FORTY-NINE
Murmurs went through the crowd.
"And you think you are the one to lead us?" Bram, one of the older warriors, stepped forward, his gaze was very sharp.
"Yes." Ava met his eyes.
"You are just a child, girl." Bram scoffed.
"A child who survived an attack from the Red Fang warriors. A child who has fought rogue hunters. A child who is still standing here while others are not." Ava's wolf moved.
There was silence.
"You don't have to like me, but you just have to listen to me. Because if you don't, we will all die." Ava continued.
Bram's jaw tightened, but he did not argue any further.
"Micah, you will lead the close combat training. Lily, work with the younger warriors, their speed is our biggest advantage. Caleb, strategy drills with me. We train until no one hesitates in a fight." Ava turned to the pack.
"Look at you, giving orders." Micah smirked.
"Yeah, well… someone has to do that." Ava exhaled.
