Buio Pichi Chapter 35: Sleeper Agent
Kenbosho was the least lethal of Seishin's subbordinates, well where it came onto physical attacks. However, with time and effort she was one of the most insidious and deadly individuals in all existence.
Since she was capable of changing one's memories, Kenbosho could cause you to do just about anything if she got the chance to change your memories just right. Her ability could turn enemies into allies akin to Seishin's, with a few differences of course.
One of them being that she can't utilize the abilities of the victim via another body, she also didn't need to manually control them like Seishin did or share their senses.
Once the individuals memories had been sufficiently manipulated to the point that they would carry out their tasks without any issues, she didn't need to use anymore mana or keep track of them.
Due to the tactical and strategic advantages of her ability, Kenbosho was given very specific high profile targets. One of which was the mirror manipulator Garasu.
Based on the information they had gathered about him, Seishin knew that attaining his abilities would be very beneficial to their cause.
The Gold Badgers Guild member could make eerily similar copies of any and every being he so desired. These copies could pass for the originals in just about every way possible.
Which included even their soul resonance. The copies could use whatever abilities the originals happened to have with astounding precision.
Kenbosho had been working on him for quite some time now and he was finally ready to be put into action.
It couldn't have happened at a better time, seeing as Garasu had been put in charge of transporting Xaymaca's mages all over the kingdom.
This would give him a limitless amount and variety of abilities from which to create copies. The only draw back would be that she couldn't create Permaclones of those individuals.
She also couldn't take them over or even enter their body for that matter. Garasu apparently had the ability to repel Seishin's soul fragments for some reason.
As a matter of fact, even the mages who already had soul fragments placed inside them would lose them if they went into the young mans mirror dimension.
Due to that particularly troublesome blockade, Seishin could neither possess his very versatile abilities nor invade his mirror dimension.
Which was infuriating, seeing as several individuals who were integral to her plans were constantly traveling back and forth from there.
She wasn't willing to risk sending any of her crucial players in there, especially without her surveillance. Besides what if Purple Coat was in there?
Of course she could simply ask Kenbosho about that... but to her chagrine she hadn't heard from her trusty assistant for quite some time now.
Osoi was on her way to meet up with the Gold Badgers Guild members and Seishin couldn't allow it. Sadly she couldn't fully take over the woman's body yet.
Luckily she had already placed more than enough soul fragments within her to be able to take control of her temporarily. Which would suffice for what she had planned.
If things worked out in her favor, which they certainly could, seeing as even Purple Coat was under the impression that Osoi Abajo was safe from her.
Sadly once it was revealed that Osoi was under her influence somehow, it probably wouldn't take long for the kingdoms most intelligent to figure out when and how it had happened.
The potential rewards would be more than worth it though, since she was after Osoi and Fukutsuno and would probably get to kill two birds with one stone... or however that saying went.
Now if only she knew exactly when and where Osoi would be contacted. Since Garasu was able to create mirrors out of thin air or appear out of pre-existing ones, the Artemis' Bow Guild Master was currently walking aimlessly.
Just as she walked by a showcase housing a beautiful dress with a metallic sheen, Seishin sensed the sensation one tended to get soometimes when they were being watched.
Osoi began to turn around, swiftly activating her innate ability. Apparently Seishin hadn't been the only one to feel the eery sensation.
When she finished turning to face the possible stalker then recognized Garasu, she quickly cancelled her deceleration and addressed him. "You really shouldn't sneak up on a girl like that you know Garasu."
Indeed, it was him. The young man had summoned a mirror right behind her and his body was now poking out of it, up to the neck.
Seishin immediately forcefully wrestled away control of Osoi's body from her as the woman waited for a reply.
Garasu cleared his throat then replied: "Well firstly Guild Master Osoi, you're certainly no girl. You're a woman, a very beau... hm hmmph... capt'm. Hm gh off my mouth." He finished rolling his eyes at Fukutsuno.
The Gold Badgers leader had appeared at Garasu's side at some point, covering his subbordinates mouth. He was just now letting it go.
"Yeah she's a beautiful woman, a bit out of your league tho. She's more closer to mine... quite literally. Hello there beautiful, would you take my hamd?" He asked in the most gentlemanly fashion he could muster.
Seishin who was now in control of Osoi's body smiled charmingly and extended her hand towards his. But before he could pull her forward, drawing her into the mirror and inevitably displacing all her soul fragments from Osoi's body.
She immediately activated her vessels deceleration ability, pulling Fukutsuno right out of the mirror. The Guild Master's mouth slowly began to open wide, as he plummeted through the air in slow motion.
His lips moved as fast as they could, as he seemed to have come to a realization and intended to warn his subbordinate to be careful.
However, the subbordinate in question seemed to miss that signal and lose awareness of everything else for that matter. Then simply began to withdraw the rest of his body from this side of the mirror. In a matter of moments... he was gone.
