Chapter 12 - Doing Shit

Elena POV

Once I was in the physical kids cottage as I'm yet to determine my discipline.

I woke up to a alone room as I got the welcome guided tour from Elliot and Margo as now I'm in class.

Professor: At the exam, each of you did magic. What was inside you was coaxed. The question is who can grow this magic into something more? Who can become a magician? Alice, please.

Alice looked nervous but got up to head to the glass marble to begin melting it and as it was melted I could tell she was using light to heat it til it was slag then forming the shape into a baby horse as it galloped to Alice as she picked up to walk to her seat.

Everyone clapped as it was impressive as class let out as I was by a pool when Elliot and Margo arrived.

Margo: Another one of those this year.

Elena: Another one of what?

Margo: Overachievers, they think I'm the smartest that's why everyone hates me.

Elena: She's shy, and gets in her feelings when her intelligence is called into question, leave her alone Margo.

With the mate bond we can feel each other's emotions and hear each other's thoughts so she knew I was being blunt about her as she looked at me with a hurt face to walk off, great I just hurt the girl I'm bonded to.

Next Day I got an E-Mail from James about Julia and the way she's been acting.

As then I was talking to James, this guy is such a tool that he's being missed at the tool shed.

Elena: Sorry I just got your Email, cellphones are not working good up here.

James: My fifth Email.

Elena: I was working and again cellphones aren't working well up here but tell me what you meant when you said.

James: I meant not herself, barely talking to me and eating. She looks like a goddamn ghost. She's not Julia.

Elena: Why? What happened?

James: If I knew would I need high and mighty mega genius you back here? It's her birthday I'm sure you forgot that too.

I see Elliot and Margo running towards me as I'm keeping them out of it.

Elena: I know it is, send me the location.

I hung up the phone.

Elliot: So what's gotten into you?

Elena: Talking to my friend who having trouble mostly.

Margo: Well let's go get you something to loosen you up.

Elena: Fine.

They drag me to drink but I can't get drunk as I put on a short black dress, black heels, and black leather jacket.

I traveled to where Julia was having her party as then I met James who I wanted to smite but held it in to follow Julia to the back.

Julia: If you say "what's Brakebills" I'm going to stab you.

Elena: You have your memories.

Julia: I need you to talk to them, tell them to retest me.

Elena: You don't wanna be there, I feel like we're being targeted, if something happens I want you safe to practice magic freely but there's this thing called hedge witches, they will approach you to recruit you, Marina is there leader and total bitch so don't trust her.

I leaned over to kiss Julia as our lips connected I put her gift in her hand as it was a magic ring that works like a battery, it absorbs Magic at a fast rate, if magic gets turned off then the ring is her fail safe that only works for her really, if anyone else tries then the ring won't work or it blast them.

I disconnected from her as we were bitting our lower lips.

Elena: I'll talk to you later.

As I traveled back to my room as I have class in the morning.

But then Jane Chatwin had to wake me up as she tried to boss me around so I pressed my hand on the symbol shocking her but making her smile but woke up with the symbol on my hand so I got out of bed to go find Alice.

Elena: Alice.

Alice: Leave me alone.

Elena: Are you still mad at what I said?

Alice: Don't be ridiculous.

Elena: Alice, you can't do nothing for Charlie.

Alice stopped walking to turn to me.

Elena: Charlie is a Niffin Alice, emotionless as killing or torchering you will be proven entertaining for it.

Alice: I have to at least try!

Elena: And this is where I become the worried girlfriend who tells you to stop.

Alice: Oh don't flatter yourself.

Elena: Fine, I just got the mark off the book you had, will do it your way but if he becomes violent in anyway, I'm taking the box and that's it. No more room for discussion.

We head to a empty lab as we began as we had to be done by midnight but then someone bust through the door as it was Penny and Kady.

Kady: Seriously, these losers?

Elena: Your free to leave and take that bad attitude with you.

Kady: You know what.

Elena: What? What are you gonna do Sady?

Kady: It's Kady!

Elena: Like I care.

Kady came charging at me but Penny held her back as I smirked at her.
