The Call of Kaito

Kaito, a boy of sixteen, grew up in a quiet village on the edge of the same forest where Kagekiri lay hidden. Unbeknownst to him, he was a direct descendant of Akihiro Masamori, and the Spirit's essence coursed through his veins. From a young age, Kaito experienced strange dreams—visions of a glowing blade, a voice calling to him from the depths of the forest. Though he dismissed these dreams as mere fantasies, they were the blade's whispers reaching out to its destined heir.

When Kaito was born, the balance between light and shadow began to waver once more. Shadeborn, long thought extinct, began to reemerge, feeding on humanity's hidden fears and sorrows. As their influence grew, so did Kagekiri's urgency to find a worthy wielder. The blade's whispers became louder, resonating in Kaito's dreams and drawing him closer to the sacred tree.

One stormy afternoon, while exploring the forest, Kaito felt an inexplicable pull toward the ancient tree. As lightning split the sky, a bolt struck the tree, cracking its trunk and exposing the tangled roots beneath. There, buried among the roots, lay Kagekiri. Compelled by a force he couldn't explain, Kaito reached out and grasped the hilt. In that moment, the blade awakened, surging with energy as it bonded to its new master.
