AUTHOR'S POV
THE FRONT BELL OF GERUND'S diner dinged as Gil and Sofia walked in, hand in hand.
Sofia smiled nervously as she looked around the crowded diner. It was filled with high schoolers and young couples. Sofia rubbed her elbow. She'd wanted some peace and quiet while having dinner with Gil, but she didn't mind.
Gil wrapped his hand around her waist and drew her to him.
He looked at the fading hickey on her neck and smiled before moving his lips close to her ear.
" What's wrong, you are tense?" He asked making her more tense.
She forced a smile. " I'm just not fond of crowded places."
" You want to go somewhere else?"
" No, no, it's fine. "
Gil paid a couple sitting by the window so they could use their booth.
Sofia slid into the chair in front of him. " Thank you."
" Don't mention it."
