60. Warrior Class Is Effective Against A Ghost

Randy dashed forward, weaving through the approaching shadow hands.

Since Luke was guarding everyone outside, there was no need to confront the shadow hands like before.

Closing the distance in an instant, Randy swung his greatsword down toward the Voidwalker.

A sharp metallic clang echoed throughout the room.

The tip of the sword trembled slightly, but it was unfortunately halted by an invisible force just a few centimeters above the Voidwalker's head.

A shadow hand struck from the side.

Using the sword's tip as a pivot, Randy flipped over the Voidwalker with an aerial somersault.

Upon landing, he spun around, swinging his sword in a horizontal arc as he leapt. Once again, a sharp sound reverberated through the room.

[It's useless…]

The hollow eye sockets of the Voidwalker turned to look at him with somewhat happy expression.

Before Randy could process that thought, a shadow hand stabbed his side.

Thrown backward by the force, Randy crashed through several desks and chairs before slamming into the wall.

Even after breaking through the wall, he didn't stop, ending up embedded in the hallway wall.

Following suit, countless shadow hands burst through the wall, evaporating the Specters in their path and striking Randy.

"Lord Randolph!"

"Senior!"

Their cries of alarm echoed through the hallway.

Amid the rising clouds of dust, the shadow hands slowly began to retreat—except for one, which remained stretched and trembling as if engaged in a struggle of strength.

With a loud "bang," it was pulled out of the void and dissipated.

"That hurt…"

Emerging from the dust was Randy, his upper body exposed, his torn student uniform hanging in tatters.

He spat out saliva mixed with blood "ptoey", he wiped the small cut on his lip.

Despite his rough appearance, Randy seemed barely harmed, Ellie let out a wry smile, somehow relieved yet exasperated.

"You're unbelievable," she muttered with a hint of amusement.

"Tch… Just because you're a woman, you thought I'd go easy on you—"

Cracking his neck, Randy readied his greatsword once again, gripping it firmly in both hands and resting it on his right shoulder as he lowered his stance.

"Well, I'll give you credit for widening the arena."

Randy, assuming his unique stance and taking a deep breath, grinned. "If I can cut you down, I'll get even stronger." In that instant, he vanished from sight.

Boom.

The sound reverberated as he launched himself forward.

Descending from directly above, Randy swung his greatsword down at the Voidwalker.

He jumped from the floor, landed on the ceiling, and used the momentum to propel himself downward for a more powerful strike.

A strike delivered with everything he had, enhanced by the acceleration of gravity, leaving behind only the sound of his movement.

The friction with the air caused the blade to heat up slightly into glowing red.

For the first time, the Voidwalker moved. Seeing the impending strike, it vanished and reappeared in a different spot.

Randy's swing missed the target and crashed into the floor, leaving a small crack there.

"Hey, you bastard. Don't run away."

Randy thrust his sword forward in mocking stance, but from the Voidwalker's perspective, avoiding a potentially damaging attack was the obvious choice.

Indeed, this was the first time the Voidwalker had sensed genuine danger from Randy's assault.

Watching the interaction from the other end of the hallway, Ellie's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Impossible… He just tried that moments ago!"

From Ellie's perspective, it was unthinkable that Randy, who couldn't even break through the dimensional barrier covering the window earlier, could now crack the floor which was also covered by the dimensional barrier. However…

"Lady Eleonora, that is Randolph Victor."

Luke understood. He knew that Randy—no, Randolph Victor—had relentlessly trained, swinging his sword more than anyone else, until he reached this level.

He cut through trees.

He cut through rocks.

He cut through steel.

He cut through magical beasts.

In the end, he even tried to cut through the space itself.

If Randy said, "Let's see if I can cut this," there was nothing he couldn't cut.

It wasn't a matter of talent or innate ability—it was sheer, unyielding persistence.

He didn't stop until he could cut through whatever stood in his way.

He swung his sword endlessly, cutting down countless magical beasts, and ceaselessly honed himself.

And in the end, he would laugh and say, "I've gotten used to it."

Now, that very phenomenon was playing out in the middle of a life-or-death battle.

Normally, something like dimensional barrier couldn't be cut. But Randy, believing in his potential, continued to challenge stronger opponents with unwavering determination. That's the Randy Luke knew.

(Impossible… It's a dimensional barrier, even if just a pseudo one!)

Ellie, watching the clash, couldn't conceal her shock. It shouldn't be something that could be broken so easily. Yet, before her eyes, the cracks were created

"You really are strong. That's why I don't want to lose to you," Randy said.

Noticing Luke's gaze, Randy once again closed in on the Voidwalker.

He swung his greatsword down, and as the Voidwalker vanished, he immediately followed where its appeared with a kick.

Caught off guard, the Voidwalker instinctively crossed its arms to block.

The dimensional barrier absorbed the impact of the kick, it was slightly confused, but the brief hesitation was an ideal opening for Randy.

Without losing momentum, Randy spun and slashed horizontally with his greatsword.

A resounding clang echoed as the greatsword clashed with the dimensional barrier.

The Voidwalker grimaced and backed away.

"That's sounds painful," Randy chuckled, his tone playful.

For the first time, the Voidwalker's expression twisted in frustration.

However, Randy's sword wasn't unharmed either. The faintly glowing blade showed signs of wear, with noticeable chips along the edge—it was clear it wouldn't hold up to many more strikes like that.

(I see… Dragon's blood, is it? But it was Randy's stubborn faith in himself and his relentless swordsmanship that awakened its full power…)

Ellie concluded that the true nature of Randy's ability to cut through the dimensional barrier lay in the dragon's blood imbued within his sword.

Dragon's blood possessed inherent magical properties and could induce miraculous effects.

Yet, on its own, such power would be trivial.

What Ellie realized was that Randy had forcefully awakened the dormant magic within the dragon's blood through sheer force of will and relentless effort.

It was undeniably the truth-under normal circumstances, only high-level magic capable of interfering with dimensions, or an attack imbued with equivalent magical power, could damage a dimensional barrier.

For Randy, who only possessed average magical power, such a feat should have been impossible.

Yet, as Ellie had suspected, what made it possible was the dragon's blood infused into Randy's weapon, granting it the ability to attack undead.

Dragon's blood, even in death, retained magic, and combined with holy water and sacred magic, it produced a weapon capable of striking down the undead.

However, the power of living dragon's blood was far from something so trivial.

Dragons, beings capable of levitating their massive bodies and performing miracles that were close to those of a god-their blood was now gradually awakening within the sword Randy wielded.

The awakened power of the dragon's blood, combined with Randy's overwhelming physical strength, was now threatening the dimensional barrier itself.

(The dragon's blood acknowledges him?)

That might be an even more difficult feat than cutting through dimensions.

It was akin to awakening the soul of a dead dragon, a truly extraordinary task.

As the intense clash continued, Ellie muttered, "So this is Randolph Victor..."

After several exchanges of blows, the two briefly separated.

"Things were getting exciting, huh? Sorry, but I'll finish it with the next strike," Randy said, lowering his stance and resting his sword on his shoulder.

In response, the Voidwalker summoned the largest and most powerful shadow hand it could muster from behind.

The shadow hand moved first, reaching toward Randy to strike him down. Just before it hit, the ground beneath Randy's right foot exploded.

With a jump powerful enough to knock even the shadow hand, Randy propelled himself forward in an instant.

No tricks-just a straightforward final blow.

Unable to keep up, the Voidwalker teleported away.

Randy immediately followed, landing on the wall, twisting mid-air, and leaping toward the Voidwalker's new location.

Without missing his target-he appeared right in front of the Voidwalker as it reappeared.

"Stay down and die quietly," Randy growled.

He stomped down with enough force to nearly shatter the floor, channeling all that momentum into his sword. The blade traced an arc as it rushed toward the Voidwalker.

A blinding light filled the room, accompanied by a shattering sound like breaking glass.

Was it the dimensional barrier that shattered?

Or Randy's greatsword which now broken in half?

.[…You idiot. Now you are…]

"You're the idiot here!"

Before the Voidwalker could finish mocking him, Randy grabbed its head with both hands. With the dimensional barrier gone, he yanked the Voidwalker closer and headbutted it with all his might.

"Wha-"

"A headbutt?"

"Against a spectral body?"

Ignoring the shocked onlookers, the Voidwalker staggered, its form flickering and fading slightly in color from the impact.

"Cmon here, one more!"

Grinning, Randy followed up with a punch, sending the Voidwalker flying and tumbling across the ground. Its form continued to fade as it weakly floated back up.

"Man, I know it's not a woman, but it kinda feels like I'm punching one. Can't really go all in like this," Randy said casually, closing the distance again.

[You... you...!] the Voidwalker hissed as it tried to regenerate the dimensional barrier.

"I won't let you do that"

Randy grabbed the broken sword lying on the ground and threw it with force.

The blade lodged itself into the forming barrier with a dull thud. Without hesitation, Randy followed up by slamming his fist into it.

Blood dripped from Randy's knuckles as the faint glow of the sword slowly faded away.

(I thought I couldn't be surprised anymore... but to think the dragon's blood would choose a human as its host...)

As if to respond to Ellie's astonished thoughts, a cracking sound echoed as the forming dimensional barrier shattered once more.

"Stop hiding behind your shell. Come out and play with me," Randy said, smiling as he gripped both sides of the cracked barrier and began pulling it apart.

[Wha... no, wait-stop!]

Right in front of the shocked Voidwalker, Randy tore the barrier apart with a loud crack.

Even though the Voidwalker was weakened and unable to maintain the barrier's full strength, the sheer absurdity of Randy's method left even Ellie stunned and forcing out a dry laugh.

"Guess I'll just shut my eyes and start hitting you."

[Wa..wait,,hold on]

But..

Clenching his fist, Randy ignored the Voidwalker's desperate plea.

"Not waiting," Randy declared, his right fist hurtling forward. The impact sounded like an explosion, and the Voidwalker's form rapidly became thinner and distorted

[No... no way... to be defeated by wild person like this...!]

Leaving behind only a final, bitter complaint, the Voidwalker's form dissipated entirely.

"Phew, see that? Even 'ghost types' can be beaten by a 'warrior type," Randy said, puffing out his chest with a triumphant laugh.

Everyone else could only watch, half in awe, half in exasperation, at Randy's ridiculous victory.
