Island

I recovered within a few more days. Soon I was helping Mum cook berries and Lin mend the clothing. Quiz and Qua even showed me a map they'd traded for.

"We're here, we think," Quiz pointed at the river. I peered at it and realized we were close to the edge.

"We'll be in the sea tomorrow if we keep a good pace," Qua added, he gave me a huge goofy smile.

As we cruised down the river I spotted something ahead. We had reached the mouth of the river and were entering a cove.

The smell of salt hit my nose and I sighed in contentment. This was a comforting smell.

When I opened my eyes I realized we were in trouble, in front of us stood a rocky island.

"Qua, Quiz! Look out!" I cried.

We tried to steer away but we ended up running aground off the shore of the little island. I heard a few cracks and snaps.

Lin ran up the steps and onto the ship deck.

"Did we hit something?!" She yelled.
