I managed to avoid Lux for only a day before he caught up to me again. This time I was in the infirmary working with Lis while Lin stayed home to help Mum with some mending.
It had been a slow day and we had no patients. Lis and I were seated, munching on chunks of berries, and chatting. I think Lis knew how nervous I was because every time I twitched she raised her eyebrows.
"You've been jumpy all day," She commented in between big juicy bites.
I didn't feel like telling her that her brother was causing me so much trouble. I liked Lis and I didn't want her in the middle of this.
"It's nothing," I shrugged, "Just tired."
"Do you need the rest of the shift off?" She asked lightly.
I huffed, "No." Truth be told I would just go hide out in my home.
"Tell me what troubles you," She leaned forward, a kind smile on her face.
I sighed then in frustration I blurted out, "It's Lux."
