I looked down in disbelief at my fading legs. I could see the ground through them.
"But I'm not dead!" I protested, "I did a spell and then I fainted."
The children looked pityingly at me, "You're not dead... yet." They chorused.
"I need to wake up from this weird dream," I whimpered.
One of the girls, my sister, stepped in my way, "You need a guide." She smiled up at me, "But you could just stay here."
"We'd all be together again," Another girl tugged on my arm, "No more of all your worries."
"We see it all," A boy added in, he had a frown, "We see how much pain you've had."
"We are lucky Grandmother spared us," They chorused again.
I cocked my head to the side. They were happy, I could tell from their smiles and little laughs. I wasn't happy, not really. I was about to be a bride to a creature I was supposed to hate. I'd traded one bad marriage for another...
