The Red Sun Ball

Onyx led me in a small procession towards the grand ballroom. Ahead of us Cass and Obsidian had their arms linked. We had a small army of servants in our wake. Mother hadn't wished to attend the ball and I couldn't blame her. The red light seemed ghoulish as it cast its long fingers on the hallway. I shuddered and pushed myself closer to Onyx.

"My love?" He asked in his softest voice.

"Just a chill," I tried to wave it off.

He halted the procession and took something from his pocket. It seemed to be some sort of scarf.

"I was going to present this to you during the ball, but if you are cold now," He quickly tied it around my neck and I noticed how it smelled. Warm sweet fragrance wafted off of it. A little bit of blush crept onto my cheeks.

Then we continued.
