Onyx took four long days to recover. Though I didn't admit it to the doctors I felt safer here them my room. Our would-be killer was far to brazen to take a chance with my mother and Nya.
Onyx seemed to recover in slow bits. He'd be lucid and asking what had happened and then he would think I was Beryl.
I explained to him patiently that he had had an accident. I had learned after the first time that telling him the truth just made him agitated. I would explain everything once he had made his recovery.
When he finally woke up I was so relieved to see the light back in his eyes. Like a dam breaking a stream of tears flowed down my cheeks. Tears of fright, grief and everything in between.
"My love," He soothed me, now he was the one patting my head affectionately. I leaned into him and sobbed some more.
Thats when he must have become aware of where he was.
"Why am I here?" He asked, he sounded puzzled and that made me cry harder.
