Futures

I watched myself for a while longer. Soon older me and Onyx had rounded up the children and were laying out a picnic. I saw how graceful I had become, I seemed to glide instead of walk. I noticed I was not dressed in red but more of a softer off-white salmon colour. This dress reached nearly to my ankles but lacked a show off exotic quality I had come to know.

Onyx was radiant. I noticed that his gaze often fell on my face and when it did I blushed and gave him a small smile.

We were happy, like an old couple. Like Grandmother and Grandfather.

I watched our children, a girl, and two boys come running for the food inside the basket. They sat down for their meal and I watched their happy family eat.

They weren't missing anyone.

"I want this future," I whispered.

"Are you sure?" Nova whispered back, "Let me show you something."

She grabbed my hand and the scene disappeared.
