Chapter 5: Meeting Alena

No wonder he preferred contract relationships. At least they wouldn't break his heart.

Mariam had not yet left the room when Doctor Lee came inside the room with a young lady behind him.

Dr. Lee, Ryan's doctor, entered the hospital room with a gentle smile. "Good morning, Mariam. I see Ryan's condition remains stable."

Mariam nodded, her eyes fixed on Ryan's face.

"Is there any change, Doctor? Any sign of her waking up?"

Dr. Lee's expression turned sympathetic.

"Not yet, I'm afraid. But we're doing everything we can to support her recovery."

As Dr. Lee spoke, a young nurse with a kind face and a warm smile entered the room. "Hi, Mariam. I'm Alena, Ryan's new nurse. I'll be taking care of her from now on."

Mariam's eyes narrowed slightly as she assessed Alena. But there was something about the nurse's gentle demeanor that put Mariam at ease.

"Nice to meet you, Alena," Mariam said, her voice a little softer. "Take good care of my daughter, please."

Alena smiled and nodded. "I will, Mariam. I promise."

Alëna, the new nurse assigned to Ryan's care, was a stunning young woman with a warm and caring smile. Her long, curly brown hair cascaded down her back, framing her heart-shaped face and bright hazel eyes. Her smooth, porcelain skin glowed with a soft radiance, and her petite nose was slightly upturned, giving her an endearing, pixie-like quality.

Despite her breathtaking beauty, Alëna exuded a gentle, compassionate aura that immediately put Mariam at ease.

Her voice was soft and soothing, and her touch was gentle and reassuring as she tended to Ryan's

Dr. Lee smiled warmly at Alëna as he said,

"Mariam, you're in good hands with Alëna. She's one of our best nurses – compassionate, skilled, and dedicated. And if I'm being completely honest,"

he added with a chuckle,

"she's also got a way of making our male patients feel a little better just by being around her."

Alëna blushed at the doctor's praise, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, Dr. Lee, you're making me blush!" she exclaimed, laughing softly.

Mariam watched the exchange with interest, noticing the way Alena's face lit up with pleasure. She couldn't help but feel a little grateful to have Alëna taking care of Ryan.

From that day onwards, Alëna started taking care of Ryan.

Mariam watched as Alëna tended to Ryan's needs, her movements gentle and precise.

She was struck by the nurse's kindness and compassion, the way she seemed to genuinely care for Ryan's well-being.

As Alën bathed Ryan's face and adjusted her pillows, Mariam noticed the way her eyes crinkled at the corners as she smiled.

She saw the way Alëna's hair fell in soft waves down her back, and the way her scrubs fit her slender figure.

Mariam felt a pang of surprise at her own observations. She hadn't expected to notice these things about Alëna, but there was something about the nurse's quiet confidence and kindness that drew her in.

It was now after a week of Ryan's comma. Albert had not yet stepped back to the hospital and he was more focused with work.

Since Mariam got Alëna who would take care of her daughter, She decided to attend to her business again.

Mariam is a 45-year-old single mother and successful businesswoman.

She's the CEO of a lucrative company she built from the ground up.

Her hard work and determination have paid off, making her one of the wealthiest women in the city.

Despite her professional success, Mariam's personal life has been more complicated.

She was in a relationship with Ryan's father, but they parted ways when Ryan was just a baby.

Since then, Mariam has devoted herself to raising Ryan and building her business empire.

Now, with Ryan in a coma, Mariam's world has been turned upside down. She's using all her resources to ensure Ryan gets the best care possible, but the emotional toll is beginning to show.

That Tuesday after one week of Ryan's accident, Maramiam was from a meeting when she encountered Albert.

Mariam had just stepped out of a meeting at the Grand Plaza Hotel, feeling relieved that the negotiations had gone in her favor. As she walked through the lobby, she scanned the area, looking for a place to grab a cup of coffee before heading back to the hospital.

That's when she saw him - Albert, the man she had accidentally run into just a week ago.

He was standing by the hotel bar, smiling and laughing with a woman Mariam had never seen before.

Mariam's eyes narrowed as she watched the scene unfold.

Who was this woman, and why was Albert being so charming and affectionate with her?

Mariam felt a pang of unease and curiosity.

She didn't know what Albert's relationship was with this woman, but she couldn't help but wonder.

Mariam's eyes blazed with anger and hurt as she watched Albert laugh and chat with the mysterious woman.

She couldn't believe the audacity of this man, who seemed completely carefree and unbothered by the fact that her daughter, Ryan, lay in a coma because of his actions.

"How can you be so heartless?"

Mariam thought to herself, her mind racing with emotions.

"Don't you have any remorse for what you've done?"

As Mariam stood there, frozen in anger and shock, Albert happened to glance in her direction.

Their eyes met, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.
