Chapter 276: They Are My Daughters

Explaining the sudden appearance of the twins was quite a hassle. After all, two living people suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

He couldn't just say they were his daughters: if he did, no one would believe him.

So, Mo Chen said: "They are my daughters."

"Mm."

Dorothy nodded.

Now it was Mo Chen's turn to be uncertain.

Dorothy didn't show any surprise, not at all, which completely contrasted with what Mo Chen had imagined. He had expected her to be shocked, but her response was far from that.

Seeing Dorothy so calm, Mo Chen couldn't help but ask.

"Aren't you surprised?"

"Surprised by what?"

Dorothy asked, her expression almost as if she was surprised by Mo Chen's question.

Mo Chen said, "Aren't you surprised by what I just said?"

Dorothy curiously asked, "Did you say something?"

Mo Chen: "..."

He suddenly felt like Dorothy was doing this on purpose.

"Oh, you mean this," Dorothy seemed to have just realized, "You're saying you got pregnant out of wedlock, suddenly had children, and they're twin daughters who have grown to their teenage years?"

Pregnant out of wedlock?

Mo Chen found the phrase odd, but it seemed to fit, even if it was a little strange.

Dorothy smiled softly, elegantly and with poise, saying, "You, as a human, being able to defeat a Heretic with your flesh and blood, if something like that can happen, then what's so surprising about this? Even if you told me that these twin daughters are yours and Indivilia's, I wouldn't doubt it."

Mo Chen froze.

It did seem like that.

But hearing it from her, it sounded like she meant something else. It was indeed with Indivilia, but it definitely wasn't the way she imagined.

"Please don't worry," Dorothy smiled, as if not caring about Mo Chen's personal life, "I won't interfere with it or spread rumors. Even if you did cheat, I wouldn't gossip about it."

Mo Chen heard something else hidden in her words.

"You saw earlier?"

Mo Chen asked, testing her.

Dorothy smiled lightly and said, "You mean, what did I see? Did I see you fighting the Heretic, or... with her..."

"Stop, stop."

Mo Chen quickly interrupted.

"No need to go further."

Now that the conversation had reached this point, even Mo Chen could tell what she meant.

Dorothy's gaze shifted to the unconscious Nihilister behind Mo Chen.

"Nihilister, also known as the Fire Dragon. She can fly freely while breathing fire. Many Nikkes have perished at her hands, causing considerable trouble for Eden. Yet, despite all the burning and destruction, she now behaves as if nothing happened."

Mo Chen raised an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?"

Dorothy's gaze shifted from Nihilister to Mo Chen. She smiled and said, "Nihilister has committed so many heinous acts, she is beyond redemption. Please allow me to handle her, so she can pay for her sins. Don't worry, I won't let her die easily."

The corners of her lips curled slightly into a refined arc, but her peach-colored pupils hid a cold malice.

Mo Chen furrowed his brows.

Nihilister may deserve punishment, but if she fell into Dorothy's hands, she would undoubtedly be tortured. Perhaps even dissected.

"No," Mo Chen refused.

It wasn't that he had suddenly become kind-hearted, nor was it out of mercy, nor was he infatuated with Nihilister's beauty.

Well, Nihilister was indeed very beautiful.

But more importantly, Mo Chen needed information about the Rapture Queen from Nihilister.

She was his ultimate goal.

Dorothy stared at Mo Chen for a long time. Suddenly, she flashed a beautiful smile.

"Have you developed a sense of sympathy? Do you think Nihilister, who killed so many Nikkes in Eden, doesn't deserve to be pitied?"

Mo Chen stared at the stunning beauty in front of him. He didn't refute her, but he didn't back down either, speaking in a low voice, "You're right, but you can't take her. She is of use to me."

Nihilister not only knew information about Rapture Queen, but as an elite of her faction, she was disloyal and always thinking of rebellion, plotting to kill Rapture Queen.

Whether it was out of defiance or to take Rapture Queen's place, she was a piece Mo Chen could manipulate.

Moreover, since he had injected her with the Punishing Virus, he essentially controlled her life.

Dorothy looked at Mo Chen, then at Nihilister lying on the ground, wrapped in clothes. She seemed to understand something, and her eyes, like a clear autumn lake, flickered with a strange gleam.

Her lips curved into a half-smile, and her gaze toward Mo Chen gained depth.

"Having the freedom to deal with a live Heretic is indeed a rare opportunity. Killing her might be a bit of a waste."

Mo Chen realized from the look in Dorothy's eyes that she had misunderstood, and he sighed helplessly.

Dorothy turned around and looked into the distance, her eyes fixed on the deep chasm. Even from a distance, it was still startling to see it so close now.

To have single-handedly defeated two Heretics.

Even at the height of the Goddess Team's power, such a feat would have been difficult to achieve.

Dorothy approached the broken corpse of the giant scorpion and glanced at it. After a moment, she turned to Mo Chen and said, "I suppose you don't need this corpse?"

"Mm."

Mo Chen nodded slightly.

It was just a shell, useless.

Additionally, Mo Chen hadn't received any system notifications about a significant increase in points, meaning Indivilia had not died.

As Mo Chen was about to check, the sky suddenly darkened, and the light grew dim. Mo Chen sensed something, furrowing his brows. He quickly looked up and saw something strange—what had been a clear sky was now filled with water.

Yes, water!

There appeared to be a vast body of water in the sky, like an endless ocean that covered the entire sky. It felt like the world had flipped, the sky was now the sea, and the water and sky blended seamlessly, not just a description, but a stark reality!

"Shut up..."

A somewhat soft and deep voice suddenly echoed between the heavens and earth, as if right in his ear.
