THE ALPHA'S BETRAYAL

The night was dark, the moon was barely visible behind the covering of thick clouds. Aveline and Gabriel moved silently through the thick underbrush surrounding Thorne's estate. The tall and beautiful stone walls looked big ahead, giving out long shadows in the dim moonlight.

Aveline's heart raced as they crawled behind a bunch of bushes, surveying the area to see where they can penetrate the defenses from. "Are you sure about this?" she whispered, her voice almost couldn't be heard.

Gabriel nodded, his expression firm. "If we don't act now, we may never get another chance. The ledger points to the vault as the key to everything. We can't stop this coup without knowing what's inside."

Aveline tightened her handling of the ledger they had risked their lives to get it. She took a deep breath, encouraging herself. "Let's move."
