Business conference

Aron POV

"Mr. Finge, when did you leave the office last night?" Selena questioned me after she spotted me exiting the elevator.

"Selena, you are not my boss, and I am not required to inform you about every activity I undertake. You would benefit from concentrating on your task. Have you prepared the report for today's meeting?" I don't feel like engaging in a polite conversation with her today.

I am already frustrated because of Sara, and now Selena is only increasing my frustration by asking me silly questions.

"I am sorry, Mr. Finge. I'll show you the completed report in just fifteen minutes." In front of my other staff members, I expressed my dissatisfaction with her, and she dropped her head in humiliation.

I don't want to treat her badly, but how can I conceal my annoyance?

Sara impacted every facet of my life. When I'm with her, everything in my life looks well managed, but as soon as I sense any kind of disruption in our relationship, my mood devolves into chaos.

"I am waiting for you in my office." Taking a glance at my watch, I told her to come to my office in fifteen minutes.

I turned on my laptop to focus on work, but all I could think about was Sara. How dare she leave the house without my permission? Even if I wanted to stay in the house with her, I couldn't stop her from going with Jerry. Despite not accompanying me as an assistant, she gladly consented to working with Jerry.

She will undoubtedly meet a new man now and fall in love with him. I believed that after every other man left her field of vision, she would undoubtedly start to like me. However, thanks to Jerry, I lost my last opportunity to win her heart.

She always chose feelings over desires, so why would she fall in love with a sex addict? She rejected my job offer because she felt that I wasn't attractive enough for her.

However, given that she didn't like me, why did she kiss me last night? I have no idea why there was still hope in my heart.

That was merely a heated exchange between the two of you. The rainy weather and the darkness of the night drew her towards you. My subconscious crushed all of my expectations.

"Mr. Finge, here is the report you asked for." She walked into my office.

Her dejected tone made it obvious to me that she was offended by my impolite behavior.

Why am I venting out my frustration on her? What did she do wrong?

"Selena, don't mind my rude behavior. I am not in a good mood today." I asked her not to be upset with me for being so impolite.

"Would you like your mood to shift?" She looked at me with lust-filled eyes.

"No, I'm all right." I took a deep breath and opened the report file.

Would I be able to turn Sara down if she offered me instead of Selena? Once more, my thoughts went back to Sara. The scene from last night was playing back in my head. My junior got hardened on remembering her seductive moans.

"Do you wish to make any changes to the report, Mr. Finge?" I heard her voice and turned back to the file.

"No, Sara, it's good for me."

"Sara?" She frowned at seeing me.

"You are free to leave and ensure that everything is ready for the conference." I handed the file back to her and stared at the laptop.

I would not allow her to leave the house if I stayed there, but I had to leave quickly to attend this important conference. I will be seeing all of my rivals in business, friends in the industry, and allies under one roof; therefore, this business conference is essential to me.

If Sara comes along, I will be able to control my feelings. Now, though, I have to learn how to be calm without her. I let out a big breath to clear my head of her thoughts and stood up to go to the business meeting at the Grand Vitara Hotel.

Selena attempted to keep up with me while holding all the required paperwork.

"Mr. Finge, I've brought all of the files." Her breath became heavy as she ran behind me.

"Relax, Selena. It's just a business conference. We are only there to inform other business partners about our company's annual expansion." I put up a brave front, but deep down, I'm terrified to talk to my dad.

I wish I could just disappear from this corporate world sometimes, so I wouldn't have to face my dad. He is my biggest rival, and attending this conference means another chance for an argument between us. He never missed an opportunity to make fun of me in front of other businesspeople.

Seated in the car, I gave my driver the order to head to the Grand Vitara Hotel. Selena happily sat with me in the passenger seat. Her tight top and pencil skirt caught my eye. I don't feel comfortable sitting with her in the same seat. I shifted my eyes to the outside.

"Please check this slide, Mr. Finge." She moved towards me to show me the laptop screen.

Her breast brushed my knee, and her thighs touched mine. How could she think about lust in this situation? I looked at her in irritation.

Sara sought to calm my anxiety instead of attempting to entice me if she were with me. I'm not sure how she found out about my mental status if I didn't tell her. The longer I spent thinking about her, the more I craved her presence.

I shifted uneasily toward the car gate, but Selena kept finding ways to close the gap between us. To elude her enticing tactics, I instructed my driver to halt the car and then took a seat in the passenger seat. She gave me a startled glance but refrained from speaking when she saw my irate expression.

Once the driver had parked the car at the hotel's door, I straightened my business suit and went inside. My heartbeat grows louder with each step because, after a year, I will finally get to see my dad again.
