Her towel

Aron POV

"Where are you, Sara?" I searched the entire house, but I could not locate her. I noticed the kitchenware scattered over the floor when I tried to prepare her for some herbal tea to help with her fever. I completely forgot to close the windows before rushing out the door to fetch the ingredients for the herbal tea.

If I knew there would be a severe storm today, I would have taken extra precautions to lock all the windows. After making herbal tea, I walked into her room to wake her but was surprised to find her not in bed.

"Where could she go now?" I looked all over the terrace, the garden, and the restroom for her, but I couldn't find her. Where can she go when she's so feeble, especially during such inclement weather? Now I'm concerned about her.

Suddenly, my heart feels so heavy. I feel like something bad will happen. I heard a knocking sound on the door, so I ran towards the hall in hopes of finding Sara there, but I was surprised to see Jerry standing in front of me.

"Jerry, what are you doing here?" I looked at her in confusion.

"Aron, do you forget that Sara asked me to bring clothes for her?" She gave me an irritated expression.

Oh, now I understand that Sara is with her. I let out a relieved sigh.

"Why are you standing there? Where is Sara?" She inquired as she sat on the couch.

"Jerry, please don't pull a joke on me now. Already, I'm concerned about her." I asked her to stop hiding Sara from me because of my concerns about her high temperature.

"Why would I joke with you? I am just asking, Where is Sara?" She shrugged her shoulders at me.

"What? Are you unsure of her whereabouts?" Startled, I asked her.

"Having only just arrived here a few minutes ago, how would I find anything about her? Do you know I have a lot of trouble coming here by flight due to terrible weather conditions, so I took the cruise to come here?"

"But where can Sara go if she's not with you?" When I heard Jerry, my mind was flooded with negative thoughts.

"Aron, she must be here, or where else she can go?" When she heard me, worry also lit up her face.

"I delved into the entire home for her, but I couldn't find her. Where she can vanish in such awful weather in fever is beyond me."

"You mentioned that she had a temperature, right?" She gave me a shocked expression.

"Yes, since last night, she has had a fever." I gave a head nod.

"Aron, how could you be so careless? Where did you leave her alone by herself in such a condition?" She questioned me angrily.

"I didn't leave her alone intentionally, but I didn't have any other options. Her fever was too high, and because there wasn't a pharmacy or medical facility nearby, I decided to give her some herbal tea to help bring down her temperature. That's why I went outside to collect the required herbs." I told her my reason for leaving Sara alone.

"I am sorry, Aron, you have to suffer because of me. I didn't think you could get sick on this trip, so I completely forgot to bring a medical facility with you." Her eyes were filled with remorse as she gazed at me.

"Jerry, you don't have to feel awful about it. It is not your responsibility; she contracted a fever as a result of my insistence that she remained in the rain for the entire night." I took a long breath to let go of the anxiety that was growing within me.

"I'm scared that something horrible is going to happen, so we need to find her immediately." She put her hand on her chest and looked at me with terror.

"I also feel like I'm suffocating." I agreed with her.

We began our search for her in a nearby area. The weather conditions are terrible. Things got worse for us because the storms and torrential rain made things worse for us. Sara has experienced trauma from rain in the past, so I'm not sure how she can leave abruptly under such awful conditions.

We searched all nearby areas for Sara, but we were unable to locate her. I don't get how she can go out to the house in a bikini while she is too timid to walk around in front of me.

"Aron, have you ever seen this forest before?" Jerry asked me if I had ever seen the dark forest in front of us.

As soon as I saw the jungle, I shook my head dismissively. We came to this part of the island for the first time. We have never visited this forest before due to its distance from our home and the small hill that blocks its entrance. The island's size prevents us from ever exploring it to the fullest.

"I think Sara is in this jungle." I asked Jerry to enter the forest.

"I don't think she will be here. I mean, look at this forest. It looks so terrific. What's she going to do in this jungle?" She questioned me.

"Jerry, my gut instinct tells me that Sara is definitely in this jungle, so we have to go inside to find her." I requested that she search for Sara in the jungle.

Two bats soared above our heads as we walked in. Jerry got scared when she suddenly noticed bats swooping over her head. She clutched my hand hard, terrified. Because there isn't much light in this woodland, we needed to use the phone as a torch to see clearly. We heard the sounds of sobbing crickets. In the forest's mud, frogs were leaping all over the place. Jerry gripped my hand fearfully once more as soon as we heard the hissing sound of snakes.

"I doubt she will visit this jungle, Aron. Don't waste our time looking for her in these forests."She asked me again to come out of the jungle.

"Jerry, I think you are right. She will not enter this jungle." I complied with her request and turned my back to leave the jungle, but it was then that I noticed a white towel lying near a tree.

"It's Sara's towel. She's here, Jerry. We have to go look for her." I took hold of the towel and instructed Jerry to search for Sara by plunging into these mysterious, black forests.
