Chapter 83: Kid, You’ve Got a Powerful Backing Now!

"Hmph... What a magnificent, extravagant nightscape..." Wright strolled slowly down the pristine street, the bright lights illuminating the noblemen and women who were enjoying their luxurious night lives. Their pretentious smiles, insincere compliments, and the complex, hollow courtesies—they were all part of the same facade.

"Twelve years... and it's still the same fake, lifeless life..." Wright smiled and nodded at the passing nobles, who politely returned his greeting. Although they didn't know each other, their shared status as nobles was enough.

Following a familiar path, Wright arrived at the kingdom's grandest "social venue"—the Central Theatre. There, he activated his Observation Haki.

This noble social circle, officially known for appreciating art, was in reality a space for one-on-one networking in private rooms. Many things that were usually left unsaid would inadvertently be exposed here—stirring the waters in a crowded, noisy place was a necessary skill for any noble.

Wright didn't have to wait long before catching the information he was looking for—the name "Sabo."

"The son of the Outlook family ran away from home. Hasn't been found yet?"

"Not yet… but it seems Outlook III doesn't really care. He recently adopted a son, apparently a genius!"

"Oh? That would be Sterry? That kid really is a genius, although it's a shame about his parents… Outlook III's luck in adopting him is pretty incredible."

"Outlook III's son... I think his name was Sabo, right? Has he completely given up? Adopting a child now... Adopted children have inheritance rights too, you know!"

"Who knows… It seems they're still looking for him, but not as actively as before..."

"Speaking of which… the Outlook family really does have a tradition of runaway children, huh..."

"Haha, isn't that the truth... Wasn't Outlook III's brother a runaway too? No news from him for years."

"Heh… This son of his might just end up the same way..."

Wright could no longer tolerate their conversation.

"Ah, does anyone know the way to the Outlook family estate? I was invited there, but unfortunately lost the address… how embarrassing..." Wright seamlessly integrated himself into a nearby noble circle. Using his invisible aura as a powerful figure, he effortlessly gained control of the conversation and posed his question.

The nobles, though not recognizing this sudden stranger, could feel the undeniable pressure emanating from him. He had to be a high-ranking individual who had spent a long time in a position of power.

"Outlook III sure is lucky, getting to know someone like this..." The nobles were jealous but dared not refuse to answer. Instead, they scrambled to provide the information Wright was seeking.

"Thank you very much..." Wright nodded, casually saying, "You nobles really are most helpful... Well, I'll take my leave now. Enjoy yourselves."

As he disappeared into the crowd, the nobles were left in a daze, breaking into a cold sweat. "That person... His presence was terrifying. Could it be that the Outlook family is about to rise?"

...

Hoo... With the address Wright had acquired, he made his way to the Outlook family estate, his mind gradually calming.

"Outlook… Outlook III… Heh, I should have realized it sooner!

"Sabo's father is that fool… That idiot had black hair, but Sabo has blonde hair... Looks like it's the same as my case, taking after his mother's hair color? No wonder I didn't notice earlier...

"Hmph… I haven't heard the name 'Outlook' in over a decade… and Sabo never mentioned it either!"

From a distance, Wright could already see the Outlook estate. He activated his Observation Haki again. "Hmph, the address hasn't changed… Looks like you really are the head of the family now. The old man probably met a bad end."

Inside the Outlook estate, the Outlook couple was attending to their newly adopted son.

"Sterry, have you finished your homework? You're such a genius!"

Wright's Haki sensed a sharp, high-pitched woman's voice. He paused.

"Yes, Mother… This is no challenge for me. Was it difficult for Brother before?" A child's voice, feigning modesty while clearly proud, replied.

"Yes, indeed. Sabo didn't get grades like yours… even though he's two years older than you." A familiar middle-aged man's voice sounded. "He just liked doing useless things… and had no respect for the essential skills a noble should possess!"

"That unfilial son has been missing for months now… Sterry, Father and Mother are placing all our hopes on you. You won't disappoint us, will you?" the woman's voice "softened."

"Of course, Mother!"

"Hahaha, good! Sterry, you're so thoughtful… Sabo, that bad kid, is just like my missing brother… Blonde hair, unlike Father, a bad temper, and he ran away from home..."

The man's voice seemed to grow more agitated with each word. "This time he went missing, I can practically see the way Wright disappeared years ago… Hmph, my foolish brother... He's probably dead by now, after all these years!

"Outlook Wright, falling from grace despite being a noble, that's the kind of end he deserves! If Sabo doesn't repent, he'll meet the same fate!"

"Hehehe... Hahahaha..." Wright laughed in a low voice.

"Still the same 'excellent' nobles from back in the day, my dear 'brother'...

"Now that I think about it, if it weren't for you, the perfect noble, holding things together back then, I wouldn't have been abandoned by the old man, only to use the family's resources to build my foundation... I should thank you!

"But this time… you did the best thing you've ever done—bringing Sabo into the world—my good nephew! Hahahaha...

"Who would've thought... I came on a whim, and ended up picking up a great nephew... Or perhaps… this really is just how it's meant to be, my dear nephew?

"You lucky brat... you've got a good deal now...

"Ace's father was the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, Luffy's father is the leader of the Revolutionary Army, Monkey D. Dragon, and your real father might be a foolish noble, but your uncle is me, Wright!

"Even if it's just to keep my nephew from embarrassing himself, I've got to push myself to grow stronger!

"Who dares say you have no backing now? You've got a big one now!"

Wright chuckled softly, tears streaming down his face. As a lonely traveler from another world, someone whose values were completely at odds with his new family, to have a like-minded younger relative who truly understood him was such a joyous thing!

"Now, to be a good backing for him, I've really got to work hard... but I won't be giving you any handouts, nephew! After all, that's your greatest opportunity..."

A streak of golden light flashed, and Wright's figure vanished without a trace.
