Chapter 263: Almighty What Now?

Enel set down the apple in his hand, sat up, and stroked his chin.

"Since when did Skypiea have someone like this...? That approach speed... is he ignoring terrain? Or... is he flying?"

"Heading straight for me... There's no doubt, he's coming for me!"

A flash of lightning burst forth, and Enel appeared in the plaza outside the shrine, looking up at the sky.

In his "Mantra" perception, that powerful "presence" was already near!

Wright flew over the "God's Shrine," his gaze landing on the man standing in the courtyard—a figure wearing a white turban, with unnaturally long earlobes, a bare upper body, a ring of golden drums on his back, and loose lantern pants.

Enel gripped his golden staff, half-lidded dead-fish eyes sizing up Wright, who was clad in a Marine Justice coat with a pair of golden wings on his back.

"Enel, I've heard quite a bit about you..."

"My name is Wright. I've come specifically to find you and ask a few questions."

"Hmph! What an arrogant fool!"

Enel raised an eyebrow.

"Ask me questions? Who do you think you are?"

"I am God! Is that how you address a god?"

Yawning, Enel smirked.

"You should kneel and beg. That is the proper way to request the will of God!"

"God?"

Wright laughed heartily. "The last guy who called himself a god got beaten up by me. Are you looking for the same treatment?"

Enel's face darkened, his lips twitching downward.

"Hah?"

"You think you can beat me?"

"I'll give you... no, five minutes. You can attack however you want."

Enel pointed his golden staff at Wright.

"After five minutes, I will retaliate. Now, get down here!"

"I don't like talking to people while looking up!"

"Five minutes?"

Wright's expression turned odd, but he descended anyway.

"Honestly, even five seconds might be too much. If you don't fight back, you might just die."

Enel's face twisted in anger. "Arrogant fool! No one has ever dared to speak to God like this!"

"That's because you've never met me!"

Wright drew his sword, Ashes, and pointed it at Enel.

"You better fight back. Otherwise, don't blame me if you die!"

"Ridiculous! Come then! Let's see what you've got!"

"...Alright then."

Wright nodded. He didn't even grip his sword with both hands. Instead, he planted his foot firmly into the ground—

And in the blink of an eye, vanished!

"Lightspeed...!"

"Judgment Strike!"

A leg coated in Armament Haki slammed into Enel's left side.

His expression shifted drastically—

Contempt. Shock. Pain. Confusion. Blank disbelief...

Then, his body twisted into an unnatural position as he was launched into the air!

BOOM!

Enel crashed violently into the shrine wall, the impact sending a wave of pain through his body—pain he had not felt in years.

"Gah—!"

Coughing violently, Enel spat out a mouthful of blood. His mind reeled.

Hadn't he just declared that he'd give this man five minutes to attack freely?

Had it even been a second? And he was already coughing up blood?

Five seconds. Might die.

Those words hit Enel like a slap across the face, burning with humiliation.

"You... how could you possibly hurt me?!"

Enel scrambled to his feet, gripping his golden staff tightly. His so-called "divine dignity" and the five-minute promise were completely forgotten.

"Plenty of people can hit you," Wright said casually. "You're a Logia user—so what? I've fought six others before you. Counting you, that's seven. If I couldn't hit any of you, that'd be ridiculous."

Wright glanced at Enel's darkening expression, then turned toward the palace servants, who had emerged to investigate the commotion but now stood frozen in terror.

"Enel, your title of 'God' isn't really fitting. Up here, it's just a leadership title—but you seem to have taken it a bit too seriously."

"Down below, though? Calling yourself 'God' would get you swarmed by monsters."

"Down below? You're from the Blue Sea!"

Enel's face turned grim. Monsters? So many that they would surround him? Never mind the title—were there really that many people in the Blue Sea who could hit him?

"Hmph! Just because you can land a hit on me doesn't mean you can be so arrogant!"

A flash of lightning surged around Enel as he spread his arms wide.

"20 million volts—Discharge!"

A massive blue arc of lightning crashed down onto Wright's position, triggering an explosion.

Enel didn't dare hold back—he immediately unleashed a 20-million-volt attack on the man who had just injured him.

"Huh?"

Enel frowned as the smoke cleared.

Wright stood there, golden light flickering in his eyes.

The lightning had missed—by just a bit.

"Missed? Impossible!"

Enel growled, his wrist transforming into pure electricity.

"God's Judgment!"

This attack, combined with his Mantra, was precision itself. No one had ever dodged it!

A massive lightning pillar crashed down onto Wright—

BOOM!

The smoke dispersed. Enel's expression soured.

His Mantra told him Wright's presence hadn't weakened in the slightest.

And—

"How are you dodging?! Lightning is invincible!"

"Invincible? You're overthinking it."

"No matter how fast lightning is, can it be faster than the future?"

Enel didn't understand Wright's words, but when he saw the Marine twirl his sword—

He felt the warning signals in his Mantra explode.

He had to dodge—immediately!

Enel transformed into lightning, but—

BANG!

Wright's kick knocked him out of his lightning form, slamming him into the wall.

"If I use my sword, I might accidentally kill you."

Wright shook his head. Even a casual swing of Ashes, infused with Armament Haki, would cut Enel down.

"Damn... you...!"

Enel coughed up more blood, panting heavily. Not only had he been kicked aside, but his entire body was now paralyzed.

A user of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit—the master of lightning—was paralyzed by a kick?!

"Damn Blue Sea dweller!"

Electricity surged around him as he struck his golden drums.

"I refuse to miss again! 60 million volts—Thunder Dragon!"

A massive lightning dragon roared toward Wright.

"I was distracted before—Mantra was disrupted..."

"But not this time!"

BANG!

Again—Wright dodged, the attack barely missing.

"200 million volts—Thunder God!"

A titanic form of pure electricity engulfed Enel as he howled with laughter.

"You're finished! You can't run now! The entire shrine is in my range!"

"I am... the Almighty God!"

SHIIING—

"Holy Judgment!"

A golden light flashed—blood sprayed from Enel's chest.

"You..."

Behind him, Wright stood, encased in a barrier of divine light, untouched by the lightning.

He glanced at the fallen, unconscious Enel and shook his head.

"Almighty what now?"
