Shifting Paths

The labyrinth stretched endlessly before them, its winding passages and looming walls all blending together, indistinguishable from one another. Alex's thoughts raced as he surveyed the maze. It felt as though they were walking in circles, and the air was thick with the oppressive silence of their uncertainty.

Nathan, walking beside Alex, finally broke the silence. "Where are we supposed to be going, anyway? This place all looks the same."

Alex turned his head to look at Nathan, a wry smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “The center. Isn’t that where you go when you’re in a maze?”

Tanaka, a few paces ahead, turned his head slightly. "The center is the only place that makes sense. If there’s an answer to all of this, it’s there."

The group exchanged uncertain glances, but the truth of Alex’s words hung in the air. If they were going to find their way out of this maze, it had to be at its heart.
