14.

Lin Feng on the other hand running with his life on the hand suddenly froze at the spine chilling bestial roar. He quickly turned and aimed the 8 inch barrel of his revolver handgun but no one was chasing him anymore. "Huh? What was that? There was another beast nearby or something?"

No one pursued him anymore, and he wasn't about to waste this chance. He shot away, away from the danger, putting distance between himself and the sudden unknown terror who saved him unintentionally.

Behind him, the sounds of clashing steel, monstrous growls, and Scarface's furious curses echoed through the forest.

"They are fighting that new beast instead of chasing me? I misjudged them, they are good guys! This is the best outcome bro!" he consoled himself. "Run!" and he did run. Away from the fierce clashing sounds of whatever is going on in there.

Suddenly another spine freezing Roar and everything turned silent. "Did…did they kill it? So quick?" His gut said something was wrong. Without wasting another second, he ran even faster, no longer caring about direction.

Suddenly, a shadow went past him. "WHOA!" It was none other than Scarface. Lin Feng was startled by the sight of Scarface running away, his face full of terror, wounded, bleeding, and limping.

"What the hell? This dude is faster than me even when one of his legs isn't working?" It was obvious to him in a second because they are cultivators and he is not, based on what he knows about his new life and identity through Isekai and soul transmigration.

Suddenly, another shadow went past him. This time, it was the woman, unharmed but also full of terror.

"What? What is going on? Are they not chasing me anymore?" he wondered as he felt a prickle on the back of his neck.

ROAR

He immediately turned and aimed his 8-inch handgun, his finger tight on the trigger. A large shadow leaped over his face. A large, wolf-like beast jumped over him, ignoring him and moving past him. His finger remained tight on the trigger, but he didn't press it because his hand was frozen in terror.

He was so insignificant that everyone ignored him, even the beast. However, he froze in terror, not because of the beast's size, but because he saw the glowing blood bead and that fur. He had been wearing that cursed fur earlier, and it was turning him into a furry werewolf.

Sweat dripped down his back at the thought that he had survived such a cursed item. A surge of gratitude shot through him for the woman who had pushed him to take off that cursed fur coat. He wasn't sure what would have happened to him otherwise.

He quickly stood up and ran in the opposite direction, ignoring the loud distant clashes and bestial roars. A fierce struggle was ongoing, and he was glad to be so insignificant that everyone ignored him. The power of this kind of invisibility was good, very good. He should not feel insulted at all.

Running aimlessly in the opposite direction led him back to the hut where he woke up, his Isekai spawn point. The burnt hut now felt eerie to him. "Back to you again, this place is cursed," he thought to get away from this place immediately. With new resolve, he kept running in the opposite direction, but he was no cultivator and couldn't keep up due to his low stamina and the cold night.

The 8-inch revolver handgun felt heavy in his hand. He tucked the handgun into his waist robe belt and tightened it to make sure he wouldn't lose it. It was crucial for his survival in this new world.

The handgun not only helped him survive danger but also in hunting and fishing. Unlimited ammo was a great cheat, removing any worry about ammo count or its value.

However, he was unsure where to go, where to hide, or what to do. He felt utterly aimless, alone, and lost. But his legs didn't stop, even when everything went silent—not even the faint sounds of insects or the glow of fireflies in sight.

This gave him a new chill of terror. It meant the beast had finished its current toy and was looking for a new one, and he was still fresh, minted. He gripped the handgun but didn't pull it out of his waistband. He was a gun noob, with no idea about ideal gun handling, use cases, or optimal positions. His knowledge came from movies, and even then, he hadn't taken it seriously.

"Come on Universe! You could have given me any other cheat power, a system would have been much better." He grumbled as continued moving forward.

He didn't stop and kept moving forward. The moonlight helped him see, or else he wasn't sure how he would have navigated the dense jungle without tripping multiple times. He had lost his backpack too and couldn't feel calm at all or think about spending the night peacefully with that blood bead fur beast around.

Aimlessly, he tried to lose himself in the dense foliage so the beast couldn't chase him like it would in the open. It seemed logical to him, but he was not only a gun noob, he was also a camping and survival noob. He left a bright trail behind him and moved very slowly, not getting far at all.

AWOOOOO

Lin Feng froze in place, his legs refusing to move. He pulled out his gun and sat down, surrounded by dense foliage, consoling himself that it would keep him hidden. But beasts like that don't rely on sight at night—they use smell.

GROWL

Lin Feng's spine froze; the beast was near, very near. His heart beat so fast he could hear it. Adrenaline surged through his blood, heightening his senses to even the faintest breeze.

GROWL-BARK

The Beast has found him.

BANG BANG BANG BANG

As soon as he heard the growl-like bark, he shot multiple times in the direction of the bark and ran in the opposite direction.
