In the morning, Nathan, Scarlett, and Caleb approached the edge of the dense forest. The facility Caleb had described appeared in the distance, a fortress of steel and concrete settled within a sprawling industrial compound. The air smelled of damp earth and gasoline.
Nathan bent low, signaling for Scarlett and Caleb to halt. From their vantage point, they could see armed guards patrolling the perimeter, their black uniforms blending into the shadows cast by the towering floodlights. Scarlett felt her pulse quicken, but she forced herself to focus.
"How many guards are we dealing with?" Nathan asked Caleb in a hushed tone.
Caleb scanned the area, his eyes sharp with precision.
"At least a dozen on the outside. Double that inside. But the main control room is on the top floor. That's where Grayson keeps the sensitive files."
"And the entrance?" Scarlett asked.
"South side," Caleb replied.
