The old man refused, "The reason I persuaded them was not for the sake of money, I just didn't want more people to get hurt."
"As for the medical expenses, I believe the judge will make you pay us."
He paused, "If that was your purpose, then you've accomplished it, can my family and I continue with our dinner now?"
Lance thanked the old man for his decision and then left.
After the old man left, Mrs. Vidal came downstairs, slightly complaining, "You shouldn't have agreed to it."
The old man gestured to the two children, who, like their mother, had yet to grasp the seriousness of the situation.
He hugged the two adorable children and looked at his daughter, "So you're going to oppose a gang just for his whim?"
"You might not be concerned about your and his safety, that's your business, but the children are innocent."
"They could find us here today to have a polite conversation."
"Tomorrow, they might find your home and not be so friendly."
