Everyone was a dockworker there—you knew me, I knew you. If there really was a conflict, at most it resulted in a brawl and then it was back to business as usual.

But in a bar, someone might pull a knife, or even take out a firearm—these were the places with the highest risk.

A death in a bar made things more difficult, and Lance didn't want that.

Over the course of the evening, Lance taught them a lot of useful little bits of knowledge, including how to handle some emergencies. As the bars and business venues multiplied, he couldn't possibly oversee each one personally.

In the end, it was these people who were responsible and, as the family business grew even larger in the future, they would not be able to manage so many venues alone either. They had to pass on these experiences, just like a real family!
