Shu Qingya drove Liu Hun to the western-style restaurant at the Emperor's Grand Hotel, its European-style exquisite décor, elegant and pristine furnishings and tableware, and the impeccable manners of the waitstaff all displaying the establishment's class and hefty price tag.
"Here, the Kobe beef steak is excellent," Shu Qingya said with a slight smile to Liu Hun, her demeanor seemingly less stern and more tender away from the Council.
"Great! Thanks for the recommendation, Director Shu!" Liu Hun said and promptly ordered a Kobe beef steak from the waiter.
The two sat facing each other, the contentious air that filled their office interactions seemingly dissipated, replaced by a subtle, elusive flirtation.
Shu Qingya reassessed Liu Hun, discovering that the more one looked at him, the more appealing he became. He wasn't a frail, creamy-faced youth, but exuded the charm of a mature man, giving off a sense of security and tenderness.
