This recorded account bears a great deal of subjectivity and the limitations of its time. In fact, Zero Island was rich in natural resources, the sea provided ample marine resources, and its deep mountains were abundant with rare minerals; the locals had already formed a civilization and religious worship before the arrival of the Empire's fleets, and they were certainly not any dumber than the distant mainlanders—it's worth noting that back then, Morton's barbarians were still running around in skirts fighting each other, while Ustus's savages were still figuring out how to fight grizzly bears.

But there's one thing the ancient books of the Empire didn't get wrong, and that is that Zero Island was indeed a terrible place.
