Chapter 7: Eat My Rising Dragon Fist!!!

"Miss Wang, hand over what you shouldn't have taken, and this matter will be considered over," said Ghost-faced Vajra, his tone very steady, showing none of the ferocity of his appearance.

Under normal circumstances, with that physique and appearance plus the nickname, he would seem to be the type with a fierce and cruel temperament, but surprisingly, he was not.

"Excuse me for asking, but what did this Miss Wang take?" Gu Shanhai spoke up, guessing this was probably part of a hidden mission, which was why he was trying to trigger it.

Like a protective type of early instance, triggering a hidden mission usually led to a monster-killing quest and less likely a time-limited escort mission, so Gu Shanhai wanted to gamble on it. If it was the former, then he could gain some benefits without effort.

"You should ask Miss Wang about that, what did she tell you, I can give you the time of a cup of tea to communicate," Ghost-faced Vajra said.

Clearly, this was "The First Epoch" compensating newbie players, because just coming out of the tutorial and facing such intelligent enemies definitely required preparation.

It was estimated that this treatment was only available on the first venture into an early instance, and it was special to help cater to players as the tutorial and the first early instance were.

Training wasn't about making things unnecessarily difficult or raising gu; it had to progress step by step.

"It's the treasure map of the Yan Saint Painting Cave, I guess you came for this, and I want to know who snitched," Miss Wang immediately said.

Ghost-faced Vajra remained silent, while the other two players besides Gu Shanhai showed surprise; clearly, they had triggered the hidden mission.

Seeing their reactions, Miss Wang's expression turned somewhat gloomy; she did not expect things to develop this way.

"Miss Wang, you hid too much from us, this is the Yan Saint Painting Cave," Gu Shanhai said playfully, even though he didn't know what that was, it didn't mean he couldn't leverage it.

Considering the situation, neither the ambushers nor Miss Wang seemed to be up to any good, and the treasure map probably wasn't hers; the three were probably hired by someone.

However, it should just be a plot setting, since the so-called hirer probably didn't exist; the map was too small to involve other areas, so it was just part of the story.

With this, the value of Miss Wang dropped significantly because, to other players, this map might become an invitation to intermediate areas, but to Gu Shanhai, it was just a map.

"If the three of you are willing to escort me back to Qingshui City, I am willing to share this treasure map with you," Miss Wang gritted her teeth and said.

The other two exchanged glances with Gu Shanhai, signaling that it was possible.

"If it's okay with you, master, you could join us, rather than giving this to someone behind you, why not share with us," Gu Shanhai suddenly said.

His words touched Ghost-faced Vajra, who then responded, "A matter of loyalty."

"…" Gu Shanhai bet fifty cents that Ghost-faced Vajra had been tempted, so giving them a cup of tea's time to discuss was actually about sowing discord, but unfortunately, he ran into players.

"Master, you uphold high moral principles, but if you think killing us will get you the treasure map, you're overly confident. There's still Luo Xiake and Huang Huadiao behind us, how confident do you feel?" Gu Shanhai slowly said.

Ghost-faced Vajra looked quite taken aback, obviously realizing what he had overlooked. After killing him, the enemy would still have to be wary of their own teammates, who weren't exactly the trustworthy type either.

Taking advantage of the enemy's moment of thought, in an instant, Mana burst forth underfoot, an Gu Shanhai turned into a loosed arrow shooting forward.

"Eat my Rising Dragon Fist!!!"

Accelerating with Mana, Gu Shanhai, holding the Spirit Light mirror in his right hand, delivered an uppercut to Ghost-faced Vajra's jaw. With Mana reinforcement, the punch shattered Ghost-faced Vajra's jaw, sending him flying in a graceful arc.

Then, he landed with a thud, apparently knocked out.

"???" x3

Both players and Miss Wang were stunned, as this lightning-fast move saw Gu Shanhai charging in with a planter in his arms and taking down Ghost-faced Vajra with a single Rising Dragon Fist.

He wasn't dead, but definitely couldn't get up.

Gu Shanhai casually slid the Spirit Light mirror back onto his wrist, turning it back from a gauntlet into an accessory. Since being nurtured by Spiritual Energy, it was tougher than ordinary stone and more useful for melee than for casting Spell Light Skill. His double-handed Mana-boosted strikes were far less energy-consuming than spellcasting, though less damaging, but they were adequate.

While the other three exclaimed, Gu Shanhai casually went over and snapped Ghost-faced Vajra's neck, carefully checking whether he was truly dead.

After confirming there was no life left, he began stripping the clothes.

He hung the Buddha Beads around his neck first, possibly just an accessory, but holding onto the idea that it might be useful, he simply took it.

He quickly found some scattered Silver Taels, a leather-bound book that might be a secret manual, and two packs of golden sore medicine.

He unapologetically stuffed everything into his arms.

"He's too poor, absolutely nothing of value," Gu Shanhai said with disdain.

"Cough, brother, we can't take this stuff with us," said the resolute little iron pot, seeing this kind of player for the first time.

"No worries, I'm a hoarder and a dumpster diver, I want everything," Gu Shanhai didn't care and continued, "You two triggered a hidden mission, right?"

"Yeah, didn't you?" the Flapping Big White Goose asked curiously.

"I didn't, it's a talent thing, so what exactly is it? Feel free to tell me, if not, and my actions impact it later, it's not on me," Gu Shanhai said straightforwardly, indifferent whether they chose to speak.

"It's nothing, just an additional mission to kill the White Ape Elder that appears only after killing Ghost-faced Vajra, Luo Xiake, and Huang Huadiao. If we don't kill all, it won't trigger," the Flapping Big White Goose briefly explained.

"Got it, what about the remaining two? Do you guys want to take them down, or just sneak past?" Gu Shanhai asked.

"Brother, if you can kill them, they're all yours, we'll just tag along for a bit of the benefit," the resolute little iron pot said without hesitation.

Why struggle if you can win by lying down, especially since neither of them were great in combat, one only familiar with some basic archery, the other only tossing props around. As for talents, they generally didn't directly offer combat capabilities, mainly providing indirect support.

"Alright, then they're mine, and whatever I scavenge is mine too," Gu Shanhai, of course, wouldn't accommodate them.
