Kyoto Prefecture, three thousand li to the east, is where the Grand Void Sect in Jizhou Prefecture is located.
The prefecture is abundant with mountains and water, a land of outstanding people and remarkable spirit.
Since ancient times, it has been renowned as a place "where mountains end in peaks, with the moon bright throughout spring and summer."
As Mr. Gu would boast with slight pride, it is a place "where many mountains are uniquely magnificent, and the flowing waters are clear to the bottom."
Though the mountains there are not very tall, they are exceptionally steep, and ordinary people seldom can climb them.
This can be evidently seen from the sights of cliffs and precipices on both sides of the road where Chen Yi and others passed after entering Jizhou Prefecture.
Occasionally, they come across rocks blocking the road on the official path, and some unfortunate ones even get their heads smashed and bleeding.
