Waiting until the Prison Guard's hands hung limply, no longer capable of making a sound, Jack finally allowed his crazed expression to soften. His gaze shifted to the doorway as he kindly smiled and said, "Oh, my dear Claw Ghost, you've finally come back. Where is the experimental material I requested?"
"Here... it's here." Claw Ghost shivered as he hoisted up two corpses.
"Wonderful, I knew I could count on you. Assistant, move them to my experiment table, assistant?"
"Doctor, your assistant... he's already dead."
"Dead?" The doctor looked down at the body by his feet, his expression one of regret, "Ah, why is it that my assistants keep dying? Nevermind, make a specimen out of him later. Claw Ghost, you come be my assistant."
"Ah—" Claw Ghost's face instantly turned pale.
"What? You don't want to?"
The doctor's indifferent gaze bore into him, almost robbing Claw Ghost of his ability to think in an instant.
At this moment, Le Cheng stepped forward with a smile, "Doctor, if possible, let me be your assistant."
Claw Ghost looked at Le Cheng in surprise.
Jack frowned and asked, "Who are you? Why haven't I seen you before?"
"I'm Le Gui, a member of the management's Prison Guard team."
"You're lying! Your badge clearly says Green Ghost!"
Le Cheng pointed at one of the corpses in Claw Ghost's hands, "No, he is Green Ghost."
"You killed him? Good, promising!" Jack nodded in approval, "But becoming my assistant isn't so simple. I must test you first..."
He pointed at the body by his feet, "As long as you can complete the autopsy within three minutes, extracting all his organs intact, I'll agree to let you be my assistant."
"Three minutes?"
"Can't do it?"
"Who do you think I am? I only need one minute."
"Hmph, an arrogant little devil. Alright, show me then!" With a slap, Jack placed the blood-stained surgical knife on the experiment table.
Without the slightest hesitation, Le Cheng walked into the laboratory, moved the utterly disfigured corpse onto the operating table, and stripped off his outer garments. The moment he picked up the surgical knife, the doctor officially started timing.
Le Cheng chuckled, flicked his thumb, and the bloodied surgical knife spun beautifully in the palm of his hand. Then, as his hand moved and the knife fell, the sharp blade easily sliced through the flesh of the deceased. He then opened the abdomen, severing the blood vessels and nerves connected to the organs one by one... Le Cheng's movements were smooth as flowing water, as if he had practiced countless times, precise and speedy, without a single unnecessary motion.
Very soon, Le Cheng had extracted all of the deceased's organs and arranged them categorically.
"Forty-eight seconds!"
Jack stopped the timer, astonished at the time. Even for himself, the fastest would take fifty-two seconds. This fellow was actually faster than him. His expression gradually shifted from surprise to admiration, then he pointed at Le Cheng and turned to Claw Ghost and the others, "See that? That's called professionalism!"
Le Cheng shook his head with a hint of regret, "It's been a long time since I've done this, my hands are a bit rusty. At my peak, I could break into forty-five seconds. Alas, I didn't expect to have regressed."
Jack asked with curiosity, "Where did you learn to do autopsies?"
"Learn? Do you need to learn? Aren't hands enough?"
"..." Jack was shocked once more. Damn it, after so many years as a doctor, this was the first time he had met someone more pretentious than himself. Could this guy truly be a genius?!
"Alright, you're in!"
Jack, excitedly thumping his thigh, gazed at Le Cheng's body with great satisfaction, "Long, nimble fingers, strong muscles, and those eyes, indeed the perfect material for learning medicine. You're called Le Gui, right? Letting you stay in management is a waste of your talents. Are you interested in studying medicine with me?"
"Doctor, isn't this a bit improper? I'm still just a newbie."
"No matter, I can teach you. Come here... Claw Ghost, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and move the material over."
"Yes... yes!"
Feeling as if he had just walked a lap through the gates of hell and back, Claw Ghost snapped back to reality and quickly moved the two corpses into the laboratory, placing them on another experiment table.
"These two materials are excellent, top-notch research subjects." Jack, as if looking at the love of his dreams, gazed upon the two bodies on the experiment table. He even bent down to kiss each one. But as he lifted his head, he absently licked his lips and frowned, "Strange, why do I feel that these materials have a weird taste?"
Le Cheng calmly said, "The materials have been formed for quite a while, so they probably all have that same smell."
After all, they had just been fished out of a cesspool; it's normal if the stench wasn't completely washed away.
"It also makes sense. Never mind, let it be for now." Jack waved his hands, shooing Claw Ghost and the others out, then turned to Le Cheng with his own profound statements, "Le Gui, you are a fine talent, but being proficient in autopsy alone won't make you an excellent doctor. You must also be skilled in various pharmacology and medical techniques, so you can prescribe the right medicine for the illness, sending patients to the Extreme Bliss World."
"Insightful, doctor."
"Come, let me introduce you to my research results."
Doctor Jack's laboratory was enormous, serving both as an experimental facility and his collection room. The most prominent collectibles here were the Suture Monsters, whether it's human-to-human Suture Monsters, human-to-animal Suture Monsters, or even animal-to-animal Suture Monsters. What amazed Le Cheng the most was a super Suture Monster known as "Demon Man."
Apart from its human head, the rest of its body was made up of parts from other animals, such as a bear's torso, a gorilla's arms, crocodile skin, elephant legs, a snake's tail, with more than a dozen octopus tentacles on its back and two rows of sharp vampire teeth in its mouth, and even hidden underneath its ribs were two pairs of wings.
