Alarms and Chaos

The sharp, shrill wail of the alarm cut through the warehouse, echoing off the walls like a battle cry. Shadow's group froze for a split second, their instincts kicking in.

"What the hell is that?" Ghost asked, his gaze snapping toward the direction of the sound.

Shadow's voice was calm but laced with urgency. "The alarm. It means we have company. Move."

On the other side of the warehouse, Bullseye and Viper were searching for an exit when the alarm reached them. Bullseye stopped mid-step, his jaw tightening.

"Great. What now?" he grumbled, shifting the rescued girl's weight on his shoulder.

Viper's eyes narrowed as she glanced around. "That's our cue to leave. Let's go."

The two groups began to converge, drawn toward the main gate like moths to a flame. Shadow's team moved with cold precision, Ghost covering their rear while Shadow led the way. Meanwhile, Viper and Bullseye sprinted through the corridors, dodging falling debris and armed figures emerging from the shadows.

"Any chance this place has an easy exit?" Bullseye asked, ducking as a stun round zipped past him.

"None whatsoever," Viper replied, firing her electric baton at an attacker, who dropped with a grunt. "But hey, at least you're getting your cardio in."

"Funny. Really funny."

As they rounded the final corner, the two groups collided at the gate.

"Finally," Viper said, catching her breath. "You took your sweet time."

Ghost raised an eyebrow. "You're welcome for the backup."

"Save the banter," Shadow ordered, his sharp gaze sweeping the area. The gate was swarming with figures in high-tech armor, their weapons aimed and ready.

"We're surrounded," Bullseye muttered, shifting the unconscious girl on his shoulder. "Again."

"Seems like a pattern with you," Viper teased, firing her grappling hook to knock out one of the guards.

Cipher's voice crackled through their earpieces. "Don't panic. Help is on the way. Deploying drones now."

Above them, a fleet of sleek, black drones zipped into the fray. They fired disorienting flashes of light and small EMP blasts, giving the team a critical edge.

"Cipher, you beauty!" Bullseye shouted, taking cover behind a toppled crate.

"Stop flirting with the tech genius and fight," Viper shot back, delivering a precise roundhouse kick to an attacker.

Shadow didn't waste time on words. With his blade gleaming under the flashing red lights, he disarmed two enemies in a blur of motion. Ghost provided cover, his twin pistols blazing as he downed attacker after attacker with surgical precision.

"Viper, Bullseye, secure the girl and head for the exit," Shadow commanded.

"Got it!" Viper replied. She pulled out a syringe and jabbed it into the unconscious girl's arm.

"What the—did you just knock her out more?!" Bullseye exclaimed, wide-eyed.

"Relax. It's a stabilizer," Viper said with a smirk. "Keeps her out of trouble while we deal with this mess."

"Or, you know, we could just *not* mess things up to begin with," Bullseye shot back, glaring as he adjusted the girl on his shoulder.

"Guys," Ghost interrupted, his tone dry. "Maybe save the lovers' quarrel for later?"

A loud explosion interrupted them as one of Cipher's drones dropped a mini-grenade near the gate. The blast disoriented the guards, clearing a path.

"This is it!" Shadow shouted. "Move!"

With the gate in sight, the team worked like a well-oiled machine. Cipher's drones continued to provide cover, dropping smoke bombs and deploying energy shields to protect them. Viper swung ahead using her grappling hook, taking out guards with her electric baton. Ghost's sharpshooting kept the enemies at bay, while Bullseye sprinted toward the exit with the girl in tow.

"Faster, Bullseye!" Viper called over her shoulder. "Or do you need me to carry her too?"

"You're hilarious," Bullseye retorted, dodging a plasma shot.

Shadow remained at the rear, ensuring no one was left behind. His movements were sharp and efficient, each strike precise as he eliminated the last wave of attackers.

Finally, the team burst through the gate, the cool night air hitting them like a wave of relief. Cipher's voice chimed in again. "Extraction point is five clicks north. Hovercraft ETA: three minutes. Don't waste time."

"Three minutes?" Bullseye huffed, glancing at the girl on his shoulder. "Hope she enjoys the bumpy ride."

Viper grinned. "Don't worry. She's unconscious. She won't feel your clumsiness."

"Keep talking, Viper. Just keep talking," Bullseye muttered as they disappeared into the shadows, the sound of approaching reinforcements fading behind them.
