Chapter 98: Unexpected Betrayal

Malia had always believed in loyalty. It was something her mentor, Ezra, had taught her from the beginning. In a world of shifting alliances and false promises, loyalty was the one constant she could cling to. It was the foundation of everything she had built, both personally and professionally. She had never once doubted Ezra, not even when the weight of their shared work seemed unbearable. He had been her guide, her protector, the one person who had never wavered in his support.

But as Malia stood in the dimly lit conference room, listening to the words that came out of Ezra's mouth, the foundation beneath her cracked.

"You've got to be kidding me," Malia said, her voice shaking as she looked at the man who had been her mentor for so long.

Ezra didn't flinch. His expression was unreadable, the years of friendship and guidance replaced by a cold, businesslike demeanor. "I'm not kidding. This is the best move for both of us, Malia."
