Daniele, the pediatrician

Before exiting the car, Cesare donned sunglasses and a mask in a minimal effort to conceal his identity.

However, even with his disguise, the inherent aura of his persona couldn’t be concealed, attracting glances from patients as soon as he entered the hospital building.

Conscious of the gazes on him, Cesare stood at the reception desk and called up his almost-only friend, Daniele, the pediatrician.

It took quite a while for him to come out, as he was attending to a patient.

Just as someone made eye contact with Cesare and seemed about to approach him, perhaps out of curiosity, a doctor in a white coat hurried from the opposite direction.

Recognizing Cesare in his mask immediately, Daniele ran toward him.

“Hey, what’s the special occasion? Your royal presence gracing us today?”

With a mix of warmth and playful sarcasm, Daniele greeted Cesare by lightly kicking at his feet.
