327. Too Strong!

✦═─⊹⊱≼≽⊰⊹─═✦

Gyarados had always been one of Kai's most dependable Pokémon. No matter how big or small the battle, it never failed him.

Its raw aggression and overwhelming presence had left a lasting impression on countless opponents.

But now that it was the enemy… its terrifying power was no longer just a weapon it was everyone's worst nightmare.

"Hey!" Will snapped, snapping everyone out of their shock. "Quit staring! We need to take it down now! Hit it with everything you've got!"

He recalled his unconscious Exeggutor and immediately sent out two more of his ace Pokémon Jynx and Slowbro.

It was clear now he was done playing around.

"Tch, what a pain," Karen muttered under her breath. "Would've been easier if we just let it burn itself out…"

Even so, she summoned her own partners: Houndoom and Murkrow.

And Looker, as the ranking officer here, did the same calling out his trusted Arcanine and Toxicroak to join the battle.

Sabrina looked toward Kai. "Do you want me to help?"

"Not yet…" Kai exhaled. "Stay alert and cover our flanks. Just in case Rocket tries to pull anything else."

He tossed out three of his own Pokémon: Gardevoir, Jolteon, and Dragonair.

Nine Pokémon surrounded Gyarados, which was still tearing through the rubble, obliterating anything in its path. There wasn't a single unbroken structure left around it.

Seeing everyone in position, Will gave the first command. "Jynx! Slowbro! Use Psychic—both of you!"

Twin waves of psychic energy surged toward Gyarados.

Kai nodded, understanding the situation. This wasn't the time to hold back, even if it was his own Pokémon.

He issued his orders too.

Karen and Looker quickly followed, unleashing a coordinated barrage of powerful moves—all aimed straight at Gyarados.

RRRAAAAAGH!!

Gyarados roared as the attacks struck. Turning in rage, it gathered a Hydro Pump in its mouth and fired it in retaliation.

"Watch out!" Will shouted. "Its moves are absurdly strong! If that hits, you're—"

WHAM!

Before he could finish, Arcanine was hit head-on—and instantly knocked out.

Will: "…"

Looker blinked, stunned. He slowly retrieved Arcanine's Poké Ball, looking half-apologetic as he recalled it without a word.

Will sighed and kept going. "Like I was saying… if it hits, it can take out a Pokémon in one shot. So stay sharp."

BOOM!

Right then, Gyarados rammed Toxicroak, sending it flying across the ruins like a ragdoll. It smashed through debris and lay still.

Will: "…"

This time, it was Looker who winced awkwardly.

Man, that was rough.

Two of his best Pokémon, taken out instantly.

Even though he was an experienced International Police officer, the gap between their strength and Gyarados's was staggering.

This wasn't just any Pokémon. It had already been strong—but now, enhanced by the remnants of Project R's energy, it was a monster.

"I'm out," Looker said grimly. "That was all I had. I'll support from the rear."

"It's fine," Will nodded. "We'll take it from here."

The remaining Pokémon continued to engage Gyarados—not with head-on combat, but through coordination, movement, and diversion. They weaved in and out, launching quick attacks before retreating.

No one wanted to get hit.

Jolteon's Thunderbolt connected. Gardevoir's Psychic struck true.

But Gyarados remained standing—barely winded.

Karen stared in disbelief. "Is this thing even real? It's taken like a dozen direct hits! What did you feed this thing?!"

Kai rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Uh… sorry."

He felt a little bad. After all, this mess was technically his fault.

Seeing the others getting nowhere, Kai turned to Gengar.

"Your turn."

Gengar nodded solemnly. "Got it."

With a flicker, it vanished—then reappeared behind Gyarados.

It launched a Shadow Ball at close range, slamming it into Gyarados's back. The beast spun around and lunged with its jaws—but Gengar blinked away, dodging cleanly.

But the distraction had consequences.

Jynx was mid-cast when Gyarados charged—and took a brutal tail swipe to the face.

Murkrow tried to strike from above—only to be vaporized by a Hyper Beam.

In under three minutes, four Pokémon were down.

Will gritted his teeth. He was starting to realize—this fight was slipping beyond their control.

Only Karen, strangely, looked almost… impressed.

As she had said before—strong and dangerous Pokémon always captured her attention.

Fortunately, Gengar kept Gyarados distracted long enough for Kai to give Jolteon a new order.

"Now—Thunder!"

Jolteon's fur bristled. The skies darkened. Thunderclouds swirled above.

Then—

KRRAKOOOM!

A colossal bolt of lightning crashed down from the heavens, slamming directly into Gyarados.

Whether it was due to rage or sheer madness, Gyarados didn't even try to dodge.

The bolt struck it dead-on.

The blast echoed for miles.

And at last… the monster stopped moving.
