"Wang Dong, where's Qian Ran?"
"He's still asleep, but… this is for you," Xiao Xiao said, handing her a bag with breakfast.
She'd bought breakfast for Wang Dong, thinking he was Qian Ran's good friend. Though she didn't understand why Wang Dong always seemed upset whenever she was around Qian Ran. Xiao Xiao could sense it, even though Wang Dong tried to hide it.
Xiao Xiao didn't want to be disliked by those close to Qian Ran, so she made an effort to be friendly with Wang Dong.
"Huh?" Wang Dong'er was surprised. She'd planned to head to the cafeteria for breakfast herself but was touched by Xiao Xiao's thoughtfulness.
Seeing the sweet smile on Xiao Xiao's face, her heart softened. She realized that if it weren't for her own jealousy, she would likely adore Xiao Xiao too. After all, Xiao Xiao was so genuinely caring toward Qian Ran, always thinking about him. She made sure to bring breakfast every day, knowing Qian Ran didn't like eating it himself, and had drinks ready when he'd get thirsty from training.
Such a caring girl. If she were a guy, Wang Dong'er thought, she might be just as charmed.
Besides, Xiao Xiao had bought breakfast for her, too, which was unexpected.
"I bought it for you along with Qian Ran's," Xiao Xiao said softly.
"Thank you." Wang Dong'er accepted the breakfast with a smile.
She'd already started to accept that Xiao Xiao would be with Qian Ran, though there was still one thing that unsettled her: Xiao Xiao could be openly affectionate with him, while she had to keep her distance in public.
But this was the path she'd chosen.
The ability to live in the same dorm and take care of Qian Ran every day was already a gift. If she traded places with Xiao Xiao, she knew she wouldn't be happy.
After all, Qian Ran hugged her to sleep every night. Though she couldn't be close to him in public, he would still sneak a kiss when they were alone.
Her acceptance of Xiao Xiao's breakfast was also a sign that she'd no longer be cold toward her.
"He's still sleeping in, though," Wang Dong'er sighed, exasperated. Every day should begin with discipline, yet Qian Ran always chose to sleep in. And somehow, he was still so strong! It was almost unfair. Did he have some special technique to grow stronger just by sleeping?
"Could I go in?" Xiao Xiao asked shyly.
Whenever she'd brought breakfast before, it was always cooled by the time she saw him in class, even when she tried to keep it warm by wrapping it in her clothes. Now that she was officially his girlfriend, she could come find him openly, hoping he'd enjoy a warm breakfast.
"Alright, come in."
Wang Dong'er glanced around, making sure nothing was out of place. She always tidied up her dresses, stockings, and other items before leaving the room in case someone visited unexpectedly.
"Wow, it's so clean!"
Xiao Xiao was surprised by the dorm's tidiness, as her impression of boys' dorms was usually that they were messy. She admired Qian Ran even more, finding his attention to cleanliness endearing.
Her admiration grew as she realized she wouldn't need to help him tidy up, as she'd planned.
"He's messy; I'm the one who cleans up," Wang Dong'er muttered, noticing Xiao Xiao's reaction. Just that morning, the floor had been littered with clothing.
Since Qian Ran loved seeing her in different dresses and stockings, she'd try on various styles each day. And if he got a bit too excited, he'd sometimes rip her stockings, leaving the floor covered in bits of fabric.
"Qian Ran, wake up! Most of the class is up already," Xiao Xiao said softly, lightly touching his face and marveling at his sleeping expression.
Even Wang Dong'er had a weakness for his sleeping face; she didn't try to change his habit of sleeping in, partly because she enjoyed watching him sleep.
"Ugh. His sleeping face isn't just mine anymore," Wang Dong'er thought to herself, feeling a pang of jealousy. She was determined to make today's date one Qian Ran wouldn't forget.
Qian Ran needed to be even sweeter to her during their date than he'd been with Xiao Xiao!
"Xiao Xiao? What are you doing here?" Qian Ran asked, blinking as he woke up and saw Xiao Xiao's delicate face.
Normally, it was Wang Dong'er who woke him up, often with a kiss.
"You never eat breakfast, so I brought it to you. You should really eat regularly. Skipping meals like that can make you sick," Xiao Xiao murmured, blushing slightly.
The truth was, she'd been so eager to see him that she'd woken up early just to bring him breakfast. She'd missed him terribly after their date yesterday, lying awake into the night, and had woken up with a flutter of excitement to see him again.
"Xiao Xiao, you're too good to me; I don't feel I deserve it," Qian Ran teased, reaching out to pinch her soft cheeks. With Xiao Xiao bringing him breakfast with such care, he was instantly more awake.
It was nice to be up early. It was only the second day since their relationship began; he wanted to make her feel special. And with his afternoon promised to Wang Dong'er, he had the morning to spend with Xiao Xiao.
"I'd like some soy milk," he said, his mouth feeling dry.
"Oh, here." Xiao Xiao picked up the soy milk and handed it to him.
"Actually… could my precious Xiao Xiao feed me?" he asked, grinning as he held her small hand.
Xiao Xiao was as sweet as the soy milk.
"Huh?" Xiao Xiao's face turned bright red as she glanced around, checking if anyone else was there. Wang Dong'er, knowing what was about to happen, had already slipped out.
Blushing, Xiao Xiao took a small sip through the straw and, cheeks flushed, leaned forward to press her lips to his.
"Such a good girl."
Qian Ran thought she was the sweetest thing. She was so trusting and always did whatever he asked, even if it embarrassed her. Just what kind of treasure had he found in this precious little fairy?
