Qianran had always liked traditional Chinese architecture, so he would be even happier if the villa could be transformed into a small garden-style retreat.
The girls also chatted excitedly, offering many ideas. They wanted to decorate their rooms to match their personal styles.
They hadn't been able to personalize their rooms at the academy since changes would incur a fee, and their roommates had different tastes. But here, they could set things up however they liked, and Qianran had no intention of interfering with their designs.
He would just go to sleep on time…
"We're going to start preparing the ingredients and cook dinner."
To celebrate moving in, the girls got busy with the preparations.
Even Wang Dong'er, who had never cooked before, was eagerly washing vegetables on the side.
Everyone had a clear role, and as they worked together, their bond quickly grew stronger.
"Hehe."
Seeing Wang Dong'er wearing an apron and cutting cabbage intently, Qianran snuck up behind her and hugged her.
He had initially planned to tease the shy Xiao Xiao, but seeing her cutting vegetables, he didn't want her to get hurt, so he decided to playfully target Wang Dong'er instead.
"What are you doing? They're all outside," Wang Dong'er whispered, her face flushed with embarrassment. Tang Ya and Jiang Nan-Nan were outside sorting vegetables, and she felt a bit nervous.
It would be terrible if they saw.
"What's the big deal? So what if they see?" Qianran didn't understand why women made such a fuss. They were all family; there was nothing they hadn't done together, so why act so secretive?
"It's not the same! Being seen and not being seen are two different things. Even if they're close, it's still embarrassing. Besides, they're only close to you, not me," Wang Dong'er replied shyly.
She wanted to push Qianran away but was worried that making too much noise would alert the others outside.
Whenever Qianran woke up early, he'd mischievously hug her from behind as she brushed her teeth, making it take forever to finish washing up.
"So what? Can't I be affectionate with you?" Qianran grinned.
Dong'er was wearing a short skirt, leaving everything below her thighs exposed.
And as she bent down to wash vegetables, her skirt would rise even more.
A little higher, and her soft, pale skin would be in full view. After selecting her room, Dong'er had removed her safety shorts since she didn't have to worry about showing anything in front of Qianran.
Thankfully, she only dressed like this to tease him. Otherwise, he'd be jealous.
He didn't want them dressing too revealingly when he wasn't around; it made him uncomfortable.
With their carefree attitudes, any accidental exposure would leave him feeling green with envy.
Although this world didn't have spy cameras, as long as they wore skirts, they'd have to wear safety shorts. He hated it when other girls wore safety shorts, but he also didn't want his girls to skip them—such is the dilemma of a man!
"Stop it."
Wang Dong'er's face turned red as Qianran tugged her skirt a bit, causing a slight chill.
Of course, he didn't intend to take things too far, just stealing a glance or a light touch.
He mostly enjoyed seeing Dong'er's blushing face, her shyness mixed with the fear that Tang Ya and the others might catch her, and those bright pink-blue eyes welling up as if on the verge of tears.
He thought Dong'er looked especially charming at times like this, like a helpless lamb completely under his control as a big, bad wolf.
Xiao Xiao, chopping vegetables nearby, blushed at the sight of Qianran teasing Wang Dong'er, finding it hard to focus on her task.
Seeing Qianran and Wang Dong'er having fun and ignoring her made Xiao Xiao feel left out. She'd always thought she wasn't as attractive as Tang Ya and Jiang Nan-Nan or as beautiful as Dong'er.
Now, seeing Qianran only play with Dong'er, Xiao Xiao naturally felt a pang of jealousy.
She felt frustrated, wishing she were just a bit more mature. She'd been eating papaya every day and even consulted a doctor for supplements, but growth didn't happen overnight.
Xiao Xiao didn't realize that Qianran hadn't involved her because she was cutting vegetables, or else she would've gladly swapped places with Wang Dong'er.
In truth, Qianran loved teasing Xiao Xiao the most—not for any particular reason, just because she was so shy.
He'd sometimes pull her into a kiss in the middle of the street, and afterward, she'd be blushing as if she had a fever. Wang Dong'er was much more open and relaxed; otherwise, she wouldn't have shared a bed with Qianran so quickly.
Xiao Xiao liked Qianran but couldn't quite grasp the appeal of those moments.
Poor thing—she'd surely be led astray in due time.
Once all the ingredients were prepped, Qianran started cooking.
He didn't trust anyone else's cooking skills; maybe Jiang Nan-Nan had some skills from her difficult childhood, but it likely wasn't anything exceptional.
While Qianran's cooking wasn't top-notch, his dishes were at least edible. With his powerful spiritual abilities, he had a fine grasp of heat control and seasoning. Given some practice, he could probably become a top chef.
"Wow, it smells so good."
The girls watched as Qianran cooked, surprised by the aroma wafting from the pan. Tang Ya wasn't too shocked, though, having tasted his grilled fish on their first meeting. She already knew he was a good cook.
"You all should learn to cook a bit too. I can't be the only one in the kitchen all the time, and eating out regularly isn't practical." Qianran yawned. He didn't want to be the only one cooking all the time—not because of male pride, but because he enjoyed watching his wives cook. They looked charming in their aprons.
Cooking at home gave a sense of family; dining out felt more like a date.
And in the kitchen, he could learn a lot too.
"Alright," the girls nodded in agreement.
They hadn't thought of it before, but they realized that if they wanted to marry Qianran, they should at least handle basic household chores.
After a delicious meal, Wang Dong'er and Xiao Xiao headed back to the dorms before nightfall. They'd considered moving in with Qianran, as the environment here was so pleasant. But knowing they'd have to share him with Tang Ya and Jiang Nan-Nan if they did, they decided against it.
If they lived here, Tang Ya and Jiang Nan-Nan would likely monopolize Qianran. They couldn't compete with the seniors' methods of keeping his attention.
Tang Ya returned to her room early, leaving only Jiang Nan-Nan and Qianran.
Qianran understood what Tang Ya meant, and he wasn't about to let this golden opportunity slip away. With a mix of charm and persuasion, he led Jiang Nan-Nan to her room, and then, naturally…
