Chapter 95: Watching Xian Liner Change – Heart Fluttering

Back in his dorm, Qian Ran began cultivating.

He was close to reaching Rank 30 and anticipated a breakthrough with a bit more training.

Perhaps he'd even make a trip to the Extreme North to capture the Ice Emperor. Though, without Skydream Iceworm's persuasive ability, gaining the Ice Emperor's recognition might be challenging. He could always bring Qian Renxue with him; her name still held weight among powerful spirit beasts.

If he managed to make the Ice Emperor his spirit… well, that would be…

He chuckled.

Rumor had it the Ice Emperor had a petite form; as a spirit, she might...

Aside from cultivation, Qian Ran focused on soul tool theory.

He'd already learned everything under Rank 6 from the system, more comprehensive than Qian Duoduo's textbooks.

Most of his time was spent drawing circuit diagrams—or rather, soul tool formation diagrams.

Since Ning Tian was a Rank 3 Soul Engineer, Qian Ran planned to make her a custom Rank 3.5 set of soul tools, including propulsion, defensive, and flight tools. He'd also make suitable soul tools for Xiao Xiao, Wang Dong'er, Jiang Nannan, and Tang Ya, as each required different levels of power, perfect for him to hone his skills progressively.

As for himself, he needed tools above Rank 6 to boost his combat ability, which he wasn't ready to create yet. Designing and crafting high-level tools required mental strain, and if he just needed something standard, he'd rather buy it.

He also spent time creating smaller gadgets.

Qian Ran realized that soul engineers here lacked creativity compared to scientists in his previous world, focusing solely on practicality, especially in combat. Very few tools were crafted for everyday use.

After much effort, he managed to build a few cameras. Qian Ran found that seemingly simple devices could be as challenging to create as advanced soul tools. Since cameras were typically mass-produced in his previous life, making them by hand required intense focus. Without his extraordinary mental control, he couldn't have managed.

He initially wanted to create a version that didn't rely on spirit energy, but some components required it to function like a modern camera. Fortunately, a small amount of spirit energy sufficed.

"Qian Ran, what are you making now?"

Curious, Xian Liner looked over as she entered.

Qian Ran always seemed to have new, creative ideas; Qian Duoduo and Xian Liner had gotten used to it.

But Xian Liner particularly liked his creations.

The soul tools he crafted had delicate designs. The ones he made for Ning Tian were soft pink and silver—adorable and feminine. Even Xian Liner, who was indifferent to soul tools, found them charming.

"Just a small gadget," Qian Ran explained. "This is called a camera. It captures beautiful moments and makes them last forever."

"Oh? Really? It doesn't sound like a soul tool," Xian Liner remarked, intrigued.

Typically, soul tools were described by their combat or support capabilities, but Qian Ran's explanation sounded different.

"It's not for combat; it's for life. Our lives are filled with beautiful moments. If we could capture them, we could revisit them anytime," Qian Ran explained. "If you want, I could show you how it works. Just follow my lead."

"Alright," Xian Liner agreed, intrigued by Qian Ran's gadget.

Qian Ran directed her to the window, where she posed with a vibrant red flower near her face. She wore a pure white dress, her light blue hair cascading over her shoulders, giving her a touch of elegance softened by a gentle femininity.

Sunlight bathed her profile, illuminating her blue hair and giving her fair skin a warm glow. A slight breeze lifted her hair gently.

Captivated by the scene, Qian Ran clicked the shutter, capturing the moment.

In that instant, Xian Liner looked radiant, like a serene fairy. If anyone just looked at the picture, they might think she was gentle and sweet. In reality, though, aside from him, Xian Liner wasn't exactly warm towards others.

"Is it done?"

Xian Liner's cheeks were flushed, slightly embarrassed.

She wasn't a young girl anymore, and this playful moment with Qian Ran made her feel a bit shy.

"Is this… me?"

Xian Liner's eyes widened as she looked at the photo Qian Ran handed her, astonished.

It was beautiful; Xian Liner couldn't help but admire herself a bit.

Qian Ran had captured her from the perfect angle, balancing light and shadow masterfully.

Seeing the camera in Qian Ran's hand, Xian Liner felt the appeal of soul tools for the first time.

This kind of device was mesmerizing to women, and many girls from his previous life loved filling their phones with photos.

But Xian Liner was too shy to ask for the camera.

"How about we take a few more shots?" Qian Ran suggested, sounding like a mischievous photographer coaxing a model. He now had a perfect excuse to see her in different outfits—an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

"Alright." Xian Liner stored the photo carefully, then led Qian Ran into her room.

Inside, she brought out several outfits and asked Qian Ran for his opinion.

Entering Xian Liner's room left Qian Ran dumbfounded. In his past life, if a girl invited him into her private room like this and asked for his advice on outfits, he'd take it as a clear signal, and things would naturally progress from there.

But with Xian Liner… he was unsure. Her emotional intelligence seemed low, likely because she invested most of her skill points in martial prowess and intellect.

One thing was certain: Xian Liner felt completely at ease around him, and she likely held him in high regard.

Looking at the array of clothes on her bed, Qian Ran's heartbeat sped up. Anyone with even a hint of sentimentality would be thrilled; the room smelled subtly fragrant, growing stronger as she pulled out one garment after another.

Was he now her personal photographer for a private photoshoot?
