Chapter 330: Someone Carries the Weight for You

Ding! Congratulations, Host, for winning over Cai Meier. Harem +1.

Ding! Congratulations, Host, for acquiring five 100,000-year soul rings.

While enjoying Cai Meier's attentive care, Qian Ran casually opened his system panel, where the rewards promptly materialized.

"These soul rings..." Qian Ran's eyes sparkled. These soul rings from the system came without pre-set soul skills, allowing him to absorb them and later add his own.

Relaxing completely, Qian Ran pressed down on Cai Meier's head, letting out a satisfied sigh. Cai Meier, her throat choked and eyes filled with grievance, looked up at him.

"Go ahead and take the longevity pill. I'll stand guard for you," Qian Ran said.

Cai Meier nodded, retrieving the pill again and swallowing it without hesitation. She quickly felt her body transforming, her excitement evident.

At the same time, Qian Ran absorbed one of the 100,000-year soul rings granted by the system. His soul power soared to level 45 in an instant.

Qian Ran's cultivation had already been sufficient in recent days, but he had been held back by the lack of time to obtain new soul rings. Now, with the system's gift, his cultivation leaped forward dramatically.

"Four more soul rings left. I won't have to worry about soul rings for a long time," Qian Ran chuckled, then equipped the previously rewarded soul skill, Legion of the Undead, onto the fourth soul ring of his Angel Martial Soul.

Legion of the Undead

Enemies slain by the host become part of the undead legion. These undead retain a proportion of their former strength and bolster the legion's power. When the skill is activated, countless undead rise to attack enemies.

Breaking through to the Soul Elder rank, Qian Ran felt a substantial boost in strength.

With his current level of soul power, he could now begin studying and crafting seventh-tier soul tools. Previously, his cultivation had been insufficient to support such advanced endeavors, despite his theoretical knowledge. But now, it was only a matter of time before he became a seventh-tier soul engineer.

Qian Ran headed to the Duke's residence with practiced ease.

As a distinguished guest of the White Tiger Duke's household, Qian Ran had been given Zhu Ying's personal token. Displaying it would prompt the servants to escort him directly to her. After all, Dai Yaoheng's treatment still required several more sessions.

"Yingying, long time no see."

Zhu Ying was dressed in a black, seductive nightgown. Its deep V neckline revealed an alluring cleavage, while the high slit of the hem ran up to her thighs, offering glimpses of her snow-white legs beneath sheer stockings as she moved. Her bare back gleamed like jade, exuding a mature, captivating charm.

Her eyes misted over as she looked at Qian Ran, her gaze laced with longing. "Qian Ran, I thought you'd returned to Shrek Academy."

"Not yet. Even if I were leaving, I'd come to bid you farewell. I can't bear to part from a seductress like you," Qian Ran teased, wrapping his arm around her waist and giving her ample hips a firm squeeze. Her soft, plump figure was intoxicating to the touch.

Qian Ran couldn't help but compare Zhu Ying to Cai Meier. He mused that once Cai Meier bore children, her figure might grow even more curvaceous, which would be a sight to behold.

Lifting Zhu Ying, Qian Ran tossed her onto the bed.

"Yingying, are you in there?" Dai Hao's voice suddenly rang out from outside.

Zhu Ying snapped out of her daze, her body trembling in shock. She looked at Qian Ran with a pale face and hurried breaths. "I'm not feeling well these past few days. I just got up."

"I know you've been working hard taking care of Yaoheng. I bought some things for you; I'll bring them in," Dai Hao said. Though he noticed her labored breathing, he thought nothing of it. After all, who would immediately jump to suspicion?

Zhu Ying's mind went blank, and it took her a while to regain composure. She frantically urged Qian Ran to leave.

"Dai Hao is here. You need to go, now."

"What's the rush?" Qian Ran replied nonchalantly through voice transmission. Compared to the imperial palace, the Duke's residence was far less secure.

Seeing Zhu Ying's face redden as though she were about to cry, Qian Ran leisurely picked up his clothes and shoes, took care to remove any lingering traces of his presence, and walked into the bathroom. He turned on the shower, letting the steam and water mask his scent and sounds.

Just as the bathroom door clicked shut, Dai Hao entered the room.

"Yingying, you've been working hard these days," Dai Hao said, smiling as he approached Zhu Ying. His gaze lingered on her exquisite figure for a moment longer than usual.

"What do you want? I'm about to take a shower," Zhu Ying said, gesturing toward the bathroom, where the sound of running water and rising steam effectively concealed Qian Ran.

"I've been thinking about moving Yun'er's grave into the estate and granting her the title of concubine," Dai Hao said after a moment of silence. Huo Yun'er's death had left him uneasy. Her body was missing, and guilt weighed heavily on him. In his heart, Huo Yun'er's importance rivaled Zhu Ying's. If he had foreseen this tragedy, he would have taken her to the military camp with him. Regret, however, came too late.

"I agree."

Zhu Ying nodded without hesitation.

"Yingying, thank you." Dai Hao was elated, surprised by her swift and decisive consent. Zhu Ying had never regarded Huo Yun'er highly before.

Dai Hao felt that marrying Zhu Ying was the greatest fortune of his life.

The grievances and frustrations he had endured over the past few days seemed to dissipate, leaving him feeling significantly lighter.

Qian Ran couldn't help but silently remark: Is there truly such a thing as peace and ease in this world? When life feels particularly light, it's only because someone is carrying the weight for you in places you can't see.

Dai Hao opened his arms, intending to pull Zhu Ying into an embrace.

Zhu Ying stepped back, avoiding him. She remembered Qian Ran's words about maintaining distance from Dai Hao.

"I'll take a shower first. Let's talk later," Zhu Ying said, anxious to return to the bathroom where Qian Ran was still hiding. She quickly entered, closed the door, and locked it.

The next moment, a large figure appeared behind Zhu Ying, pulling her soft body into an embrace. The shower sprayed warm water over them, soaking her clothes and making the fabric cling tightly to her voluptuous figure, much to Qian Ran's delight.

Holding Zhu Ying's waist, he eagerly pressed his lips to hers, his rough hands kneading her body through the thin, wet fabric.

"Mmm…"

Zhu Ying let out muffled sounds of pleasure, her breath coming in alluring gasps.

Turning up the shower to full blast, Qian Ran ensured the noise masked any sounds they made. To further avoid detection, he extended his spiritual power, suppressing any disturbances that might alert Dai Hao outside.

As he thought of Dai Hao still in the other room, Qian Ran smirked with satisfaction, his actions becoming even bolder.

With a loud rip, he tore away Zhu Ying's wet clothes.

Though startled by Qian Ran's brazenness, Zhu Ying, seeing his resolve, resigned herself to his will. She raised her hands and silently covered her mouth, suppressing any sound she might make.

"Yingying, this is simply perfect."

"You better hold it in. If you can't keep quiet, it won't be my fault," Qian Ran teased, his relentless actions raining down upon her like a storm.
