"Qianran, be careful!"
Ma Xiaotao and Ling Luochen were the first to react, activating their martial spirits and shielding Qianran. The other women also readied themselves for battle, their eyes blazing with determination.
Cai Mei'er, however, felt torn. Protecting everyone from Shrek Academy on her own was a tall order. If she went all out, her indiscriminate attacks might end up injuring her allies.
"Qianran, if you're a real man, step out on your own," came a chilling voice. "We only want your life. Otherwise, I can't guarantee the safety of your women."
Dai Hao's voice was venomous, his hatred for Qianran plain. After discovering Qianran's affair with Zhu Ying, all he wanted was to see him dead.
As tensions reached a standoff, Qianran felt an overpowering force lock onto him. Suddenly, he was snatched away by an invisible hand.
The sheer might of the attack shocked Cai Mei'er to her core. It immobilized her entirely—even though she was a Super Douluo.
"An Ultimate Douluo?" Cai Mei'er murmured in disbelief.
"Qianran!" she exclaimed, lunging forward. But Dai Hao and his deathsworn warriors intercepted her, attacking furiously to keep her occupied.
"Qianran must die! Hahaha!"
"This scoundrel is finally going to pay with his life!"
"This is the price for humiliating me, Dai Hao! Go to hell!"
Seeing the elder Moon take Qianran away, Dai Hao descended into a frenzied euphoria. Tears glistened in his bloodshot eyes. His hatred, fueled by the humiliation of having his wife stolen, consumed him entirely.
Now, at last, Qianran was going to die.
For a man to endure his wife's betrayal and yet be powerless to act—it had been sheer torment. But now, with Qianran's death assured, Dai Hao felt vindicated.
"Think again," a cold voice cut through the air.
An icy chill swept over the battlefield, freezing everything in its path. The Ice Empress had arrived. With a single wave of her hand, she turned Dai Hao's deathsworn warriors into lifeless ice sculptures.
"That's the Ice Empress, the Ultimate Ice powerhouse with Qianran?" Cai Mei'er stared in awe.
The Ice Empress radiated a power far surpassing hers. As Shrek Academy's vice dean, Cai Mei'er was no pushover, capable of swiftly eliminating even Soul Sages and Soul Douluos. But controlling her power with such precision—freezing enemies without harming allies—was another level entirely.
Moreover, the four scarlet-red soul rings beneath the Ice Empress spoke to a terrifying power Cai Mei'er had never witnessed before.
"Qianran's been taken! We have to follow them!" Cai Mei'er shouted, snapping out of her daze.
"Don't worry," the Ice Empress replied calmly. "Someone's already on it. Qianran will be fine."
Her gaze fell on Dai Hao, who froze in terror. Memories of a previous encounter, where the Ice Empress had punished him, flooded back. He knew her strength far too well.
"Ice Empress!"
Seeing her, Wang Dong'er, Xiao Xiao, and Jiang Nannan, who were familiar with her, let out sighs of relief.
"You have more powerhouses?" Cai Mei'er's heart pounded. The foe who had taken Qianran was incredibly strong, yet the Spirit Hall seemed confident they could deal with him. Just how powerful was this hidden sect? Could it surpass even Shrek Academy?
"Yes," the Ice Empress said simply. "Leave this man to me."
As her cold aura surged, Dai Hao turned to flee, his spirit power propelling him away at breakneck speed.
But the Ice Empress smirked, chasing after him with ease.
Cai Mei'er, unwilling to risk leaving the students exposed to further danger, stayed behind to guard them.
"Who could be targeting Qianran? Mingde Hall? Or some other faction?" She bit her lip in frustration. She'd have to wait until Qianran returned to get answers.
"Vice Dean, will Qianran be okay?"
Despite the Ice Empress's assurances, the women around Cai Mei'er were pale with fear. If anything happened to Qianran, they didn't know what they would do.
"That rascal? He'll be fine," Cai Mei'er said, shaking her head. No matter what, Qianran always seemed to carry himself with a casual, unbothered demeanor. This time, though, the sheer number of powerhouses targeting him—and the rapid response of his own protectors—made her suspicious.
It felt like a trap, one that Qianran might have set up himself.
"That guy," Cai Mei'er muttered, a hint of frustration in her voice. "Can't he ever let people relax? He always makes my heart race..." Her expression softened as she realized just how deeply her feelings for Qianran had grown since their relationship turned intimate.
...
"Old man, farewell."
After being carried for an unknown distance, Qianran's body shimmered and vanished from Moon's grasp, retreating into the Xumi Ring granted by the system.
The space within the ring was vast and impenetrable, accessible only to Qianran. More importantly, it was indestructible by anything less than divine power.
The Xumi Ring was a personal pocket dimension, a perfect lifeline.
With this trump card in hand, Qianran dared to act boldly.
Moon's expression darkened as Qianran slipped from his grasp.
"A dignified Pavilion Master of the Sea God's Pavilion, targeting a junior—don't you think that's beneath you?"
Golden light illuminated the sky as Qian Renxue appeared, six angelic wings unfurling majestically. Beneath her, six black and three red soul rings glowed brilliantly, radiating the unmistakable presence of an Ultimate Douluo.
Though her cultivation had declined after her fall from godhood, her soul rings, enhanced to a minimum of 10,000 years, remained unchanged.
"You're with Qianran? Spirit Hall?" Moon's eyes widened as he beheld the six-winged angel. He was stunned by the overwhelming power emanating from her—it dwarfed his own.
"How could the Spirit Hall still exist, let alone reach such heights? Impossible!" Moon's face twisted in disbelief. He couldn't comprehend how this rumored sect had amassed such strength—an Ultimate Ice Douluo and now a six-winged angel of Ultimate Douluo caliber?
From the moment you targeted Qianran, you were doomed," Qian Renxue said icily.
"Kill me? Not so easily," Moon retorted, his voice defiant despite the growing despair. "Even among Ultimate Douluo, I won't fall so easily. You may be stronger, but we don't die that easily."
He roared, unleashing a brilliant white light that transformed the sky into a blinding canvas.
"Hmph."
Qian Renxue's golden aura flared, pressing Moon's power back effortlessly. Their clash erupted into a series of deafening explosions that shook the heavens. The battlefield stretched across a hundred-mile radius, its intensity visible even from Star Luo City.
Emerging from the Xumi Ring, Qianran watched, awe-struck by the scale of the battle.
"Snow Empress, assist Xue'er and finish this quickly," he ordered, turning to the nearby Snow Empress.
"Understood," she replied.
The Snow Empress, radiating an aura equal to Qian Renxue's, joined the fray. Her extreme cold power far surpassed even the Ice Empress's. As a 700,000-year-old super beast, her strength was unparalleled.
Having recently mastered the art of human transformation through cultivation, she now wielded seven 100,000-year soul rings, representing her immense spirit beast heritage.
"Another Ultimate Douluo?" Moon's voice quivered.
Faced with two such overwhelmingly powerful women, Moon's despair deepened. Even at his peak, he wouldn't have stood a chance.
"Pu!"
With the Snow Empress joining the fight, Moon was gravely injured in moments. Blood poured from his mouth as his frail body crumpled.
His life, already nearing its end, burned away rapidly under the strain of battle.
"Bei Bei... what have you done?" Moon muttered bitterly. "Our Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon clan—was this the calamity awaiting us all along?"
For the first time, Moon felt true regret. Had he known the terror of the Spirit Hall, he would never have set his sights on Qianran.
Now, as he faced death, he could only fear for Bei Bei's fate. With his protector gone, Shrek Academy might not spare him.
