Fang Chang glanced at the two soul beasts, and their information instantly appeared before his eyes.

So it's them… His expression turned somewhat strange. In the original story, these creatures had disrupted Liu Erlong's plans and ultimately became Ma Hongjun's spirit ring.

If he remembered correctly, the other one had also become Oscar's spirit ring—both merely stepping stones for the Shrek Seven Devils.

At this moment, neither of the two soul beasts had noticed Fang Chang. He remained quietly in the distance, observing them.

Technically speaking, scorpions and spiders both belonged to the arachnid order of arthropods, making them distant biological relatives. But Fang Chang couldn't muster the slightest interest in this so-called Pink Madam.

It wasn't because he had a problem with it—no, it was because its appearance was just too extra.

To put it bluntly, in Fang Chang's eyes, it looked like an overly made-up woman with garish makeup, dressed in a frilly pink gown, with a massive red flower pinned to its head—half the size of its face.

On the other hand, the King of the Land filled him with annoyance—purely because of its name.

Fang Chang's most hated ultimate form was called Mother of the Land. And yet, this creature had the audacity to call itself King of the Land? Was it looking for trouble?!

The two soul beasts were growing increasingly intimate. The King of the Land had fully climbed onto the Pink Madam's back, their tails intertwined in multiple loops, the venomous stingers at the tips occasionally touching and producing crisp sounds.

Fang Chang moved. Activating his Stealth ability, he quietly circled around and crept closer to their tails.

The dense forest foliage provided ample cover, ensuring his Stealth remained effective even in broad daylight. The two soul beasts had no idea that danger was creeping toward them.

These soul beasts had practically thrown themselves onto the muzzle of a gun. There was no way Fang Chang would let them go. Besides, if he didn't take them now, they would soon become mere stepping stones for the Shrek Seven Devils.

Just as the King of the Land was getting fully engrossed in its activities, a spider leg suddenly descended from above, piercing into its back.

The King of the Land roared in agony, twisting and writhing violently.

Fang Chang had struck a critical nerve center in its back—the equivalent of a snake's seven-inch weak point or a human's spinal column—inflicting excruciating pain.

Beneath it, the Pink Madam suddenly felt a sharp increase in weight, pressing down so hard that she could barely breathe. She turned her head and immediately saw an unfamiliar spider-shaped soul beast glaring menacingly at them, one of its legs already embedded in her mate's back.

The Pink Madam let out a low growl.

Immediately, countless smaller, pink scorpion-like soul beasts emerged from the surrounding trees, their bodies exuding a dense pink mist.

At the same time, the Pink Madam herself began releasing more of the pink mist—some drifting toward Fang Chang, while the rest surged toward the King of the Land's head.

Fang Chang inhaled a small amount before he could react. A slight surge of excitement welled up within him, but it remained within his control. It seemed that his Poison Resistance skill was taking effect.

The King of the Land, however, was not so lucky. After inhaling the mist, its eyes immediately turned red, seemingly forgetting its pain as it pounded its pincers into the ground with renewed vigor.

The earth trembled. Cracks formed on the surface, revealing deep crimson fissures, and moments later, several towering pillars of fire erupted skyward—engulfing Fang Chang in flames.

Fang Chang furrowed his brows slightly but remained motionless. Instead, he pressed his embedded spider leg even deeper into the King of the Land's back, showing no intention of dodging the attack.

HP -1

The flames engulfed more than half of Fang Chang's body, yet he felt no discomfort. His health bar only decreased by a single point, and that was merely from the initial impact.

With his Basic Fire Immunity ability, such weak fire-based attacks posed no threat to him whatsoever. It was a complete counter to the King of the Land.

At the same time, Fang Chang's spider leg pierced through the exoskeleton of the King of the Land, emerging from its abdomen before stabbing into the back of the Pink Madam beneath it.

The Pink Madam let out a wail of pain, releasing even more pink mist in desperation, trying to drown Fang Chang in its effects.

Meanwhile, the King of the Land, after its failed attack, started losing its energy again. Even the Pink Madam's mist could no longer help it recover.

For most people or soul beasts, this mist would have been overwhelming. Despite the Pink Madam's soul power being only 3,900 years, its mist was potent enough to excite a five-ringed Soul King to death.

But unfortunately for them, Fang Chang's soul power had long surpassed 10,000 years, and he had Poison Resistance. No matter how strong the mist was, it had little effect on him.

Realizing the mist was useless, the Pink Madam quickly summoned more Pink Ladies—smaller scorpion-like creatures—and commanded them to attack Fang Chang.

Dozens of Pink Ladies emerged from the forest, crawling toward Fang Chang and attempting to pierce his body with their venomous stingers.

However, Fang Chang's exoskeletal armor was far too tough for these tiny creatures. No matter how hard they tried, their stingers bent upon impact, leaving them utterly helpless.

Now, Fang Chang launched his true offensive. Activating Flame Armor and Poisonous Breath simultaneously, he wiped out a large number of Pink Ladies in an instant.

The spider leg embedded in the Pink Madam's back began releasing paralytic toxins, while his other legs stabbed mercilessly into both the King of the Land and the Pink Madam.

Their struggles grew weaker. Eventually, they stopped moving altogether.

Only then did Fang Chang leisurely retract his spider legs and land back on the ground.

He examined the two soul beasts, now barely clinging to life. After a moment of contemplation, he opened his jaws and began devouring them—from the tail upward.

Since they lived as a pair, it was only fitting they died and were eaten as a pair. This was the greatest mercy Fang Chang could offer.

After over an hour, Fang Chang had consumed both soul beasts entirely, leaving behind only their hollowed-out shells, still entangled in their previous position.

"Successfully devoured King of the Land and Pink Madam. Gained new skill: Elastic Adaptation."

Elastic Adaptation: Activating this skill grants two effects. The user may choose between:

Expanding body size, up to a maximum of ten times the original size. Shrinking body size, up to a minimum of one-tenth the original size.

This… is amazing! Fang Chang had been craving a skill like this for ages. To think he actually got it this time!

A true man must be able to adapt—expand when necessary and shrink when needed!

After dealing with the two soul beasts, Fang Chang turned his gaze to the swarm of Pink Ladies still scuttling around in confusion.

Without the Pink Madam's command, they were running around aimlessly.

Fang Chang grinned. Time to enjoy some after-meal snacks.
