The tension in the Kanu household was palpable as Victory, Destiny, and Adah recounted the events of the day to their parents. They carefully omitted the part where their powers had played a role in the demise of the criminals. To Michael and Tolani, the story sounded like a lucky escape, but it was enough to ease their immediate worries.

Michael sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. “It’s good you’re safe, but we can’t ignore the fact that trouble is still looming. The Anarch Kidnappers don’t stop after one failed attempt. They’ll come back, and next time, they won’t be careless.”

Tolani nodded, her face etched with concern. “We need to find a way to keep everyone safe. Maybe we should leave after all—”

“No,” Michael interrupted. “We can’t run. We stand and fight.”

As the adults continued their discussion, the trio exchanged glances. Victory was the first to speak. “We can’t let them put themselves in harm’s way. This is our fight.”
