The room was cold and dimly lit, the silence only broken by the faint sound of dripping water from somewhere unseen. Victory, Adah, and Destiny sat huddled together, their backs against the stone wall. Each of them wore expressions of confusion and defiance, their minds racing as they tried to make sense of their sudden abduction.
“This is insane,” Adah muttered, her arms crossed tightly. “We can’t just sit here. We need to find a way out.”
Victory glanced at the single door that seemed to be their only exit. “And go where? We don’t even know where we are.”
Destiny, always the joker in tense situations, tried to lighten the mood. “Maybe we’re in some medieval castle dungeon. Should we start yelling for a knight to come to our rescue?”
Adah shot him a glare. “Not the time, Destiny.”
