A Void

The room was heavy with silence.

The debriefing had been brutal. Their mission in London, stopping the occult summoning of a lesser serpent, had ended in success, but barely. Their performance had been sloppy, and the Church made sure they knew it.

A 5 out of 10.

Adah leaned forward, rubbing her temples. "We could have done better," she muttered, frustration clear in her voice.

Koron sat with his arms crossed, his jaw clenched. "The objective was completed, and the girl survived. I don’t see how that’s a failure."

Victory let out a slow breath. "It’s not about just surviving, Koron," he said, his tone calm but firm. "The Church expects precision. We let the situation spiral out of control before we stepped in. We should’ve controlled it from the start."
