Chapter 53

Roslyn's eyes dropped, shame washing over her as she struggled to find the words to apologize for her behavior.

"Sorry," she whispered, her voice barely audible as she began to explain.

"For my behavior, I was completely out of line, and I apologize," she continued, her words tumbling out in a rush.

"I was drunk, not in my right senses, and I shouldn't have acted that way," she added, her voice trembling with emotion.

She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the consequences of her actions.

"I need to go," she said, turning to leave, but Leonardo's swift movement stopped her.

As soon as she opened the door, he closed it, trapping her between his arms, his body inches from hers.

Roslyn's eyes widened wildly as she looked up at him, her heart racing with anticipation.

For the first time, she saw something in his eyes—something unexplainable—a depth, a knowing that made her heart skip a beat.
