Chapter 19

As soon as Ivy exited the room, Victor's demeanor transformed from calm to calculated. With lightning-fast speed, he pricked the man's eyes with the chopsticks held in his hand, the sound of the utensils piercing flesh and eyeballs echoing through the room. The man screamed in agony, his hands instinctively reaching for his eyes.

But Victor wasn't finished yet. He pulled out a small pistol from his jacket pocket and aimed it at the man's head. The room fell silent, the only sound being the man's labored breathing and the soft clinking of silverware.

Without hesitation, Victor pulled the trigger, the sound of the gunshot echoing through the room. The man's head jerked back, a bloody hole appearing in his forehead. His body slumped forward, his face contorting in a silent scream as his eyes turned into bloody sockets.

The room erupted into chaos, some attendees screaming, others gasping in shock. Victor, however, remained unfazed, his expression a mask of indifference.

He put the pistol back in his pocket and picked up another pair of chopsticks from the table, continuing to eat as if nothing had happened. The man's lifeless head fell onto the table, his blood seeping into the fine china and expensive tablecloth.

Mr. Lee, a portly man with a thick beard, spoke up, his voice trembling with fear. "Are you a psycho? He was a minister; do you even know how much this will cost us all?"

Victor's gaze turned to Mr. Lee, his eyes cold and calculating. He put down the chopstick and wiped his mouth with a napkin, his movements deliberate and slow.

"This piece of shit was staring at my fiancée," Victor said, his voice devoid of emotion. "He had to pay the price for it. We made him a minister; he became a minister with our money, so it doesn't matter to me. Throwing money will bring more such dogs like him, but this bastard had to die. His eyes fell on the one who is mine."

The room fell silent once more, the weight of Victor's words hanging in the air like a challenge. Then another voice spoke up, Ethan's tone laced with venom.

"If you cared so much about her, then why did you bring her here? Does the Blackwood family expose their women in public like this?"

Victor's gaze turned to Ethan, his eyes flashing with anger. He gave him a death stare, his pupils constricting into slits. The air in the room seemed to thicken; the tension between the two men was palpable.

Victor's voice was laced with a sinister tone as he spoke, his eyes gleaming with sadistic intensity. "I wanted to show everyone who my queen is and what the consequences of giving her dirty glances will be in front of you all. It was important to show."

Julian's face contorted in disgust, his voice barely above a whisper. "This guy is psycho."

Victor's gaze snapped towards Julian, his eyes flashing with anger. "Watch your mouth, Smith," he growled, his voice low and menacing.

Before anyone could say anything else, Ivy entered the room, her eyes scanning the space as if searching for something. And then she saw it. The dead body slumped over the table, the bloody hole in his forehead, the chopsticks still lodged in his eyes.

Ivy's eyes widened in horror, her face pale as she took in the gruesome scene. She screamed loudly, the sound echoing through the room like a siren. "Ahh! Oh my god!"

She stumbled backward, her hand flying to her mouth as if to stifle the scream. Her eyes were fixed on the dead body, her gaze unable to tear away from the horror.

Victor's expression didn't change, his eyes still gleaming with intensity. He didn't even flinch at Ivy's scream, his gaze still fixed on Julian.

Ivy's scream seemed to go on forever, the sound echoing through the room like a siren. She was frozen in place, her eyes fixed on the dead body, her hand still clamped over her mouth.

But then, suddenly, she turned and ran. She sprinted out of the room, her high heels clicking on the marble floor as she fled from the horror.

The room was silent for a moment, the only sound being the soft clinking of silverware and the heavy breathing of the attendees.

And then Victor spoke up. "You see, Smith," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "This is what happens when someone crosses me. This is what happens when someone looks at my queen with dirty eyes."

He paused, his gaze fixed on Julian. "I'm just a man who protects what's mine," he continued. "And I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe."

The room was silent once more, the weight of Victor's words hanging in the air like a challenge. Julian's face was pale, his eyes fixed on the door where Ivy had disappeared.

Ethan and Lucas exchanged a glance, their faces etched with concern. They knew they had to get Ivy out of there, away from Victor's twisted game.

But for now, they were trapped, caught in Victor's web of violence and intimidation. And they knew they had to be careful, or they would be the next ones to fall victim to his wrath.

Ivy ran out of the room; all eyes followed her, their gazes fixed on the door as if waiting for something to happen. Victor, however, didn't just watch—he acted. He stood up from his seat, his movements fluid and deliberate, and followed Ivy out of the room.

The remaining attendees were left in stunned silence, their minds reeling from the events that had just transpired. Ethan was the first to break the silence, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I have never seen such a psychoman anywhere," he said, his eyes fixed on the door where Victor had disappeared.

Lucas nodded in agreement, his face etched with concern. "I am happy Ivy is with him," he said, his voice laced with a hint of irony.

Julian's eyes widened in shock. "Brother, what are you saying?" he asked, his voice incredulous.

Lucas turned to face him, his expression serious. "I don't know about love, but Victor knows how to protect Ivy, which we failed to do," he said, his words hanging in the air like a challenge.

Ethan's eyes narrowed. "You can't be serious, Lucas. Victor just killed a man in cold blood."

Lucas's expression didn't change. "I know what I saw, Ethan. And what I saw was a man who will stop at nothing to protect the people he cares about."

Julian shook his head. "That's not protection, Lucas. That's obsession."

Lucas's gaze turned cold. "Call it what you want, Julian. But Victor is the only one who can keep Ivy safe right now."

The room fell silent once more, the weight of Lucas's words hanging in the air like a challenge. The attendees knew that they had just witnessed something sinister, something that would change the course of their lives forever.
