The siblings walked side by side through the abandoned school district, surrounded by dilapidated teaching buildings that looked eerie and terrifying in the dead of night.
Suddenly, Lu Jun raised his head and glanced at the top of a certain building. Under the moonlit night, a figure stood tall, draped in a dark cloak. Behind it, the dim moon wheel loomed like a massive silver disk, shrouding everything in a heavy atmosphere.
It was an oppressive aura that belonged exclusively to a Commander-level Great Demon.
Nie Wei had arrived. He looked down and saw a strange man and woman standing in the open space below. His brows furrowed as he asked indifferently, "Who are you? And where is Ding Yumin?"
"Heh… If you want to know, then take me down first."
Seeing this, Lu Jun let out a quiet breath. His plan should be working. To prevent the opponent from fleeing, he deliberately avoided revealing the truth and spoke ambiguously.
"Humans…" The Patriarch of the Nie Clan grew irritated. He vaguely sensed something was amiss and sneered coldly, "Ignorant fools. I'll capture you in ten seconds and interrogate you myself."
Boom!
Suddenly, it moved. Its thin frame erupted with terrifying power, vanishing from the rooftop in an instant. A deep pit was left behind at the spot where it stood, and even part of the top floor collapsed, sending dust billowing into the air.
Lu Jun's pupils contracted. A faint, glimmering white light surged in his eyes as his mental perception locked onto the figure. Yet, he could only see a blur just a streak of afterimage. The enemy dropped straight down along the wall, then abruptly changed direction at the last moment without slowing, launching an attack at an unimaginable speed.
So fast!
With a single thought, Lu Jun activated his Star Map, casting Water Defense, Level 5.
A surge of dazzling azure radiance illuminated half the sky. Mist gathered, emitting a deep, lingering sound akin to a dragon's roar.
Immediately after, streams of water wrapped around the siblings, forming twisting flood dragons that coiled upward. Crystal-clear scales covered their bodies, adding layers of formidable protection.
The only difference for Lu Jun was that a brilliant blue pearl emerged above his head, floating in midair. As it rotated, it absorbed vast amounts of water vapor, channeling some kind of reinforcement back into him.
Beside him, Lu Mei was not idle either. Her cold and elegant face remained composed as she raised both hands, her dress billowing in the wind. A massive silver-white whirlwind surged up from beneath her feet, while a series of cyan wind-star diagrams arranged themselves in the sky behind her.
A Wind Constellation was drawn around her, radiating with brilliance, surrounding her like a Goddess of the Wind.
Thud!
But before Lu Mei could even release Demonic Gale: Aerial Wings: Protection, level 2, the Commander-level Blood Clan Elder had already closed the distance. A bloodthirsty smile stretched across its face, and its seemingly normal hands transformed into razor-sharp claws.
It could already envision the two being shredded into powder, their sweet blood splattering through the air.
Yet, the elder sister remained completely unfazed. Her expression remained tranquil as she controlled her Star Constellation—she trusted her younger brother to handle it.
Buzz!
In the next instant, Lu Jun stepped forward. His hands grasped at the air, and a Black-Gold Dragon Patterned Sword was drawn forth. The blade expanded in the wind, glowing with dazzling platinum light.
Forging, Level 4: Shockwave was activated, coupled with a Diamond Coating effect, turning the weapon into an unshakable golden fortress.
Simultaneously, a mass of pitch-black liquid spread across his chest, forming a Black Tortoise Shield. His silver eyes gleamed as he activated Spatial Void Wall, gathering a silver membrane in the air.
Still feeling insufficient, he took a deep breath, causing his blood energy to surge, forming a layer of crimson radiance around his body.
With just a single breath, Lu Jun had stacked five layers of defense!
Nie Wei's eyes widened. A moment ago, its perception of Lu Jun suggested that his defenses were merely at the level of a Battle General. It hadn't cared one claw strike would be enough to break through.
Yet, in the span of a heartbeat, his aura had skyrocketed into the realm of a true Commander-level Domain!
Boom!
Neither hesitated. Their figures clashed like meteors crashing into the earth, creating a deafening explosion. Tremendous shockwaves rippled outward, layer upon layer, carving a massive crater into the ground.
Then, both Lu Jun and the Blood Clan Elder were flung away by the recoil, their bodies hurtling backward at breakneck speeds.
A blurred figure streaked past Lu Mei, brushing her shoulder. A sudden gust of wind lifted a few strands of her hair. She remained expressionless as she watched her brother ricochet through the air like a rubber ball.
Boom! Boom!
Two successive crashes echoed. The combatants smashed into opposite buildings, leaving behind gaping holes as dust and debris filled the air.
And just like that, the brief moment of delay was achieved.
This brief delay was all she needed.
Her beautiful eyes sharpened as she finally unleashed her High-tier magic. At the moment Wind Wings formed, a surge of pale-white storm force erupted, sweeping across the ground like a plow, flattening everything in its path.
Because after the Blood Clan Earl, another ten shadows had emerged, closing in from all directions they were ten Wrrior-level demons.
However, as the Tornado Storm surged, each one was forced into visibility and sent flying into the sky.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
Behind Lu Mei, ethereal White Feather Wings spread open, dazzling and majestic, resembling the wings of an angel. In the blink of an eye, she shot into the sky, vanishing into the night clouds.
Whoosh—
The ten pale, handsome humanoid figures grinned wickedly. Their backs split open, revealing massive, grotesque bat wings. In an instant, they transformed into streaks of motion, launching an aerial pursuit.
They were ruthless and cunning, well aware that Lu Jun could physically fight against senior demons, making him an unpredictable and dangerous opponent. He was too difficult to deal with, so rather than risk unnecessary losses, they chose the seemingly easier target the female mage.
Moments later, Lu Mei soared high in the air. Glancing down at the vampires, she let out a cold snort. Did they really think she was easy prey?
Perfect. She could first clip the Blood Clan Earl's wings, then turn back and slay the Commander-level demon together.
Meanwhile, below, Nie Wei stepped out from the debris, steadying himself against a wall. His once-pristine Zhongshan suit was now in tatters. His expression carried a trace of astonishment as he observed the two siblings.
Both of them appeared to be High-tier mages, but the younger one was particularly perplexing.
Water element, Space element, Psychic element—he had demonstrated all three. He also wielded multiple enchanted artifacts. But what baffled Nie Wei the most was his physique—how could a mage possess such a monstrous physical body?
A sense of danger crept over him. He considered escaping.
But in the distance, amidst the swirling dust, a flash of platinum light streaked forth at an unimaginable speed.
Lu Jun gripped his sword, aiming at Nie Wei as he charged forward. Thousands of water threads trailed behind him, pulling him along his entire body became a mere extension of his sword, slicing through the air like a celestial blade descending from the heavens.
Metal element was far from an immobile magic. If a flying sword could be fast, then it could also be used to charge.
Perhaps its maneuverability and long-range flight capabilities weren't as refined as Wind Wings, but for short-distance straight-line acceleration, it was almost on par.
Only a physically powerful Warrior-level could pull off such a feat.
Nie Wei instantly realized that escaping was no longer an option.
A murderous glint flashed in his eyes as he let out a low roar.
"Then die!"
Rip!
His originally human-like frame swelled dramatically, shredding the remains of his clothes. His true form was revealed a ten-meter-tall humanoid monstrosity, its shriveled yet grotesquely powerful body exuding a terrifying aura. Its bat wings stretched wide, blotting out the moon like a dark storm cloud.
A surge of overwhelming dark energy spread outward, creating a domain akin to the High-tier Shadow Magic: Night Monarch's Dominion.
In an instant, Lu Jun was swallowed by the encroaching darkness. His mental perception was strongly suppressed.
His brow furrowed.
Yet, the next moment, his Psychic Sword cut through the haze, locking onto Nie Wei's presence.
His Dragon Patterned Sword swung upward, slashing at the Blood Clan's grotesque head.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
But as soon as his blade struck, he felt nothing—it sliced through thin air. The shifting interplay of light and shadow revealed that the massive figure was merely an illusory projection.
The Blood Clan's signature ability—Shadow Phase Shift!
Lu Jun arced beautifully through the air, swiftly adjusting his stance.
His expression turned serious.
Even with Psychic Detection, finding the real Nie Wei within this Shadow Dominion was proving difficult.
Even the weakest Commander-level demons were far from ordinary opponents.
