Chapter 42
[Alex's POV]
Having finished playing the piano, I took an electric guitar out of my spatial pocket and connected it to the right speaker.
"So, ladies and gentlemen," I looked at the red-haired girl and the gray-haired butler. "I just composed a song and called it "Something Just Like This". The world owes the birth of this music to one beautiful person. Barbara, it is dedicated to you," I said with a gentle smile, and played the guitar, simultaneously turning on the music I had just recorded on the piano.

Something Just Like This is a song by American musical duo The Chainsmokers and British rock band Coldplay.
In my past world, the song entered the top ten of many charts around the world, and was even nominated for a Grammy Award.
It's kind of funny how this song mentions Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man. There's just a slight mismatch with that last one. At this point, the "friendly neighborhood" guy hadn't shown up yet, so I replaced "Spiderman" with "Superman."
It made sense, and the rhythm didn't change, and almost everyone knew the superhero in the blue tights.

Barbara listened with bated breath… Alex had always inspired admiration for his talent, but now he had reached a whole new height.
To compose music and lyrics for a song based only on one conversation sounds unthinkable. But what is also surprising is that this song has its own special charm, capable of touching the human soul.
Having listened to it only once, the girl was already attached to this music. She looked at the performer without taking her eyes off. If you listen carefully to the words, you can understand that Alex is telling her his inner thoughts and experiences.

He explains their argument today to her through the song. It is difficult to be a superhero if you do not have superpowers. He says that he has always loved reading ancient books, myths and legends. But every time they talked about Hercules or Achilles, he realized that he was not like them.
It is difficult to say whether he would like to take the risk or not. He is not looking for someone with extraordinary abilities, but no one would refuse a fairy tale.
Everyone wants to be attracted to someone, to love and kiss someone. Every ancient book has its own wisdom.
Every legend or myth teaches us something. And no matter how much he admires Superman, he understands that he is not one of those people who have unearthly strength. But sometimes he wants to put on a hero's costume and soar, he wants to have such strength that he can move mountains.
We often think about how much we want to risk in life, and where we would like to go. There are no answers to all the questions, and this is natural.
He is not looking for someone with extraordinary abilities, he does not rave about heroism, but he is fascinated by it. He needs something like this so much.
Sometimes there are moments in his life when he regrets that he does not have superpowers. Trying to understand the full meaning of the words spoken, Barbara was able to discern a rather obvious subtext.
Alex seemed to be confessing his sympathy for her. He said that he wanted to find someone he could trust, kiss and miss. It was not difficult to guess who these words were addressed to, as he did not take his eyes off her throughout the song.
The girl asked herself, what should she do? How should she act? She had long felt that when her thoughts touched on this young man, they became disordered.
He always complimented her at the right moment, expressed his support, and praised her positive traits. In most cases, he asked her, and did not demand, despite the fact that he was her boss.
His words of approval, support, and compliments always made her happy. Until this very moment, she did not understand it. But now, when she looked at Alex with awareness, Barbara felt how gentle warmth enveloped her whole body…
